Ron Paul to Make Major Announcement Next Week
EconomicPolicyJournal.com ^ | Friday, September 5, 2008

Congressman Ron Paul will make a major announcement next week in Washington D.C. at the National Press Club.

Both Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin are expected at the news conference. Barr is the Libertarian presidential nominee and Baldwin is the presidential nominee of the Constitution Party.

Speculation is that that Baldwin and Barr are stepping aside so that Paul can become the nominee of both the Constitution and Libertarian Parties The Montana Constitution Party has removed Chuck Baldwin from the ballot and is putting the ticket of Ron Paul for President and Michael Peroutka on the ballot for Vice-President.

UPDATE: Eric Garris reports: Ron Paul was aware that the party planned to do this, and has said that as long as he can remain passive and silent about the development, and as long as he need not sign any declaration of candidacy, that he does not object.

Could Strategic Planning to Ruin McCain be coming...Imagine this Bar, Baldwin, and Ron Paul conspire to totally screw McCain, they decide that in the purple states/swing states in fact any state that isn't in the bag for the GOP, they will go with 1 ticket name and that name will be the spoiler to swipe as many votes as possible from McCain.

Strategically giving the election to Marxist Obama in some sort of temper tantrum payback, makes Paul/Baldwin/Barr an enemy of the Constitution of the United States of America!

You can add Art Bell, Jessie Ventura, and Bob Barr to this turd pile as well.

If Ron Paul is a strong libertarian, why do so many skinheads and white supremacists pack his rallies?

The unifying factor is belief in banking and government conspiracies run by Neocons (see Jews).

am I a snake too?

It depends, do you believe the US is a factor for good or evil in the world?
Do you believe that wars and conflicts around the world are a direct result of America's actions?
Do you believe that there is a secret cabal of 'neocons' running the government and banking systems?
Do you believe that several amendments to the US Constitution are unConstitutional?
Do you believe that Abraham Lincoln was one of the best presidents in this country or worst?

A lot of folks like to join the Libertarian party because they believe in libertarian (small l) ideals. There is very little 'libertarian' about the modern Libertarian party just as there is very little Constitutional about the Constitution party.

I am proudly voting for Palin (and that other guy she is allowing to tag along with her).

Triple ditto. John will be a good guy to keep the seat warm, introduce her to his pals over at the NSA and Pentagon, and get coffee for her.

Paul is a strict literalist when it comes to the Constitution

Ron Paul is a strict literalist of the Constitution in the same way Fred Phelps is a strict literalist of the Bible.

Could Paul hate his country so much that he would contribute to the Obama campaign like that?

Is he that unpatriotic and that much of a self absorbed dirty b@st@rd?

Probably so.

The only one I know is my son's 40 year old long haired guitar teacher, that still spends his weekends in bars laying with his rock band.

He was leaving the country if Ron Paul did not win....I am still waiting....

Paul is a pro-life reformer. Maybe he’s behind this GOP ticket.

This is my fear as well- the anti-American trifecta. They all have the egos to do it. Damn them if they do.

how many Paultards swore up and down he would 'never run third party'. It will be funny if the rumor is true

They won't notice, they're busy getting ready to overthrow the government.

I presume if he accepts either or both nominations, he'll be open to donations again. With new $2,300 limits.

Yeah, the race was decided at that point, but he didn’t do as well in earlier and later primaries elsewhere. I would not have thought of Pennsylvania, and south central PA as particularly Ron Paul areas, but PA did go extremely well for Ron Paul.

I was citing the numbers for PA to argue in part that there were parts of the country where Ron Paul’s support was not inconsquential, and that it would be a mistake to think that McCain should not have to work for Ron Paul’s support in PA.

I definitely was not arguing that McCain couldn’t get the support of people who voted for Ron Paul in the primary.

Absolutely not!

Contributions are to be made to Ron Paul for President, not the Obama campaign.

Why would a pro-life Republican want a pro-choice Republican to speak? Etc.

Because McCain wants the votes of their supporters, maybe? In Pennsylvania, Ron Paul got 120k or so votes.

Giuliani, who is completely pro-choice, got very few votes in the primaries and got to speak at the convention.

Treating Ron Paul badly might come back to bite McCain in the ass.

The most likely scenario, though, is Ron Paul doesn’t run, McCain kicks Obama big, and disgruntled Ron Paul supporters aren’t a relevant factor.

Their shared belief that American foreign policy is run by and for the benefit of Israel is probably their main reason for supporting Paul.

If Ron Paul runs for President, that could only benefit Obama.
He would rise to turd status with that move.
