Obama Fundraiser: Palin Putting Career Above Family

by FOXNews.com
Saturday, September 6, 2008

An original member of Barack Obama’s finance committee said Friday that Sarah Palin is putting her career above her family by accepting the nomination as John McCain’s running mate.

Howard Gutman made the argument on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” telling the radio host that the Alaska governor should focus her energy on her unwed, pregnant teenage daughter.

“If my daughter had just come home at 17 years old and said, ‘Mom, Dad, I’m pregnant, we have a family problem,’ I wouldn’t say, ‘You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to take this private family problem … I’m going to go on the international stage and broadcast it to the world’,” he said.

As Governor Palin comforts her 5 month old son Trig, the media asks where were the Governor and her husband when their five month pregnant daughter was “visiting” her fiance. The media continues to work on their calculators and calendars.

You know, Sarah Palin is not trying to be all things to all people.
She knows that is God’s role, not government’s.
She loves her family for who they are, and they love her for exactly who she is.

The left’s caricature of womanhood is blown to bits by Sarah’s example.

“So, who is Howard Gutman, Obama’s pointman on perfect parenthood? Mastermind of the “proper attack” on Gov. Sarah Palin?

Possibly one of the biggest, bloodiest scalps McCain could tack to the wall:

* Official member of Barack Obama’s campaign. You know, one of those folks eligible for something Obama calls “firing” should they attack a candidate’s family -— properly or otherwise.
* Only one of 35 bundlers to raise over $500,000 for Obama, on par with Hollywood moguls Daivd Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg
* Not only a registered lobbyist, but Lobbyist of the Year (2006)
* Not only Lobbyist of the Year, but he played a lobbyist (himself) on HBO’s K Street
* Did I mention he likes to lobby?
* And that Obama does not?
o

“I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate in this race to take on lobbyists — and won. They have not funded my campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president.”

— Barack Obama, Speech in Des Moines, IA, November 10, 2007
* And last but not least, defense attorney for Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground killers, springing domestic terrorist Susan Rosenberg from prison.”

My great-grandmother was a suffragette. We still have family photos of her and her daughters dressed in white for a “Votes for Women” parade!

As I said in a similar thread, my only fear is that these idiots will eventually figure out that they are destroying their own candidate and will decide to shut up.

Sarah is not a single mom. These people keep on forgetting that their father is RIGHT THERE AS WELL!!!!! The man doesn’t strike me as some freakin’ lazy pile of garbage. If she were single I could see these arguments having *some* validity, but this is not the case!!!!

How about this....what person would pass up a pay increase? Governor Palin is making $125K/year according to stateline.org (May 15, 2007 ... I do not know if this went up this year).

As Vice President, Palin will make $201,000 plus a $10,000 taxable expense allowance (source is infoplease.com).

So, assuming she wins the Vice Presidency, she will see a salary increase of 60%. If she loses (please, God, no), she has helped her family with the name recognition that should help her become a better provider in the future. This additional income should cover the family should Mr. Palin decide to stay home with the kids. I am sure he can run his company remotely, so it all comes out in the wash.

Wouldn’t any family do this? Yeah, I’d hate to have to pack everyone up and move, but its much better for all involved in the long term.

So the Obama campaign's message is, a woman's place is in the home and not the workplace.

i have heard some Obama supporters say they can't vote for McCain/Palin because they think Palin should be home raising her family... and i say, "but the guy you support doesn't believe that... his wife is not a stay home mom... Michelle Obama works outside the home..."

i feel like these people are just using it as an excuse to support Obama... these are Christians, btw... why make up this reason to support Obama? just say you support Obama and be done with it... i believe that as Christians, they are embarrassed to say they are voting for Obama because of the abortion issue so they use the Sarah should stay home excuse... it's pathetic...

The smart thing to do would be to praise Governor Palin for her accomplishments, then talk about the issues. The only problem is that Democrats have no idea what issues are important to people. If they understood the issues, they would be Republicans.

Why don’t they just repeal the 19th Amendment and be done with it? Then all the little women can just stay home, barefoot and pregnant, taking care of the children and making a nice home for hubby. If the dems think this is convincing anyone, they’re right: it’s convincing all American women that the dem party is sexist and stupid.

...i believe that as Christians, they are embarrassed to say they are voting for Obama...

They should be more than embarrassed by wanting to vote for Obama, the pro infanticide candidate. I seriously wonder at the the reality of the faith of anyone who claims to be a Christian but would then vote for Obama. Fortunately, rather they are really saved or not is above my pay grade.
