We oppose amnesty. The rule of law suffers if government policies encourage or reward illegal activity. The American peoples rejection of en masse legalizations is especially appropriate given the federal governments past failures to enforce the law.

“We believe everyone has something to contribute and deserves the opportunity to reach their God-given potential from the boy whose descendents arrived on the Mayflower to the Latina daughter of migrant workers. Were all Gods children and were all Americans.” John McCain, 9/4/2008
I’m guessing you didn’t have the religious experience so many others seem to have had last night? LOL
Actually, I’m surprised the McCain forces didn’t make the immigration section even more vague.
I am expecting to get flamed for being a traitor, but I believe that amnesty eventually will lead to not only more illegal immigration, but huge Democrat (or worse) majorities which will transform all 3 branches of government.
I am not telling anyone to vote against McCain. Obama, with his statements that ICE “terrorizes” people, has an even worse attitude than McCain.
The sinking feeling in my gut is the GOP telling us what we want to hear while planning to do something completely different.
It’s very clear what McCain wants in this area.
AWOL !!
Why didn't Juan acknowledge the House Republicans still in Washington?
I was almost ready to donate again to the RNC with their new solicitaion. Gov. Palin fired me up!!
But then Juan told me last night he is not a Republican or Democrat! That he want's to compromise with Democrats who never compromise on anything!
MeCain/Palin 08 & Palin/______ 2012
Here’s Obama’s one sentence mention of the issue in his acceptance speech:
“Passions fly on immigration, but I don’t know anyone who benefits when a mother is separated from her infant child or an employer undercuts American wages by hiring illegal workers.”
So it looks like six of one or a half-dozen of another, with a difference being that at least he uses the word “illegal”.
McCain is going to have to talk about the illegal aliens sometime before the election...
Voting for POTUS this year is like choosing one of 2 guns to play Russian Roulette.
The Obama gun has 5 bullets and one empty chamber, which is the hope that Republicans in congress will be able to block Obama’s amnesty and other programs.
Then there is the McCain gun, with the hope that Palin will take over some day and be a true conservative POTUS, or at least she will have enough influence over McCain to stop amnesty. That hope assumes that Palin has strong anti-amnesty convictions and that McCain would care what she thinks, but remember McCain said he would appoint Dems to his cabinet, who could be influential in a bad way.
We're ready to believe you
Well McCain certainly doesn’t agree with that one. Either that or he’s flip flopped.
“Were all Gods children and were all Americans.
Hey McAmnesty what about the other 4 billion third worlders that are God’s children that want to come here?
>>Well McCain certainly doesnt agree with that one. Either that or hes flip flopped.<<
No, according to McCain, last year’s amnesty bill was not really “amnesty.” He’s probably happy with a platform statement that seems to be against amnesty, but he can claim doesn’t apply (Like GW Bush).
“Were all Gods children and were all Americans.
Hey McAmnesty what about the other 4 billion third worlders that are God’s children that want to come here?
“We oppose amnesty.”
Nothing but empty rhetoric.
“McCain is going to have to talk about the illegal aliens sometime before the election...”
No he will not talk about illegal alien amnesty because he is for it and his base is against it. This is the number one issue facing our country and unfortunately both candidates will assist in America’s demise.
I heard this morning that Ackroyd and Murray are signed for Ghostbusters III.
For instance, even though their is a veritable blackout in the media and almost everywhere else, two great candidates are running in MA, that I know of. One to out Kerry, the other to out the self proclaimed socialist Olver.
Mitch McConnell faces a slimy contender for his seat. One who was CEO or some such for a chain of nursing homes, one of which my Mom works in. KY does not want this guy in the Senate. He did just abysmally in capacity with these nursing homes.
sarah is our ace in the pocket, but even she needs a "vetting" from bedrock conservatives on Illegal Immigration. It must be done and it must be done soon. we need to know where she stands and what she will do in opposition to the forces like mcCain and Graham whom you KNOW are just waiting for another chance to SHOVE AMNESTY through. people are lame if they let their guard down NOW, after all we have been through, beating it back time after time after time.
that goes against the RNC script.
seriously, it heartens me to visit this thread and see freepers still on their toes, telling the RNC, you better not screw with us, we are WATCHING YOU on Borders/Amnesty , and taking NOTHING FOR GRANTED in the midst of all the euphoria over Ms. Palin, as nice a gal as she is--McCain and his crack team have the levers of the Party right now. many of them are open borders types. caveat emptor, folks, caveat emptor
“The same goes for Sarah Palin. I don’t care if Alaska doesn’t have a major illegal immigration problem, if she wants to hold the second highest office in the land she better find an opinion fast. “
Politicians will say anything to get elected. We know McCain’s record. I wonder what her’s is?

What!!!??? You mean even this guy?
“We MUST take back Congress no matter who is elected. Find out who is running, across the country, for Congressional and Senate seats, and donate as much as you can.:
“
Exactly. With McCain/Obama the choice at the top all our energies should be put into the Congressional contests.
You know, if you look at my past posts from way, way back, you will find that I despise McCain but there is a time and a place.
As much as I despise McCain I am more afraid of the non-Muslim community organizer.
McCain has done some good things too unlike Obama and that is what I am focusing on.
Thanks for the additional comments. You take care.
He'll just stonewall it for the next 2 months. What's to say? We all know he takes the absolute most extreme and least pro-American stance there is.
“Im guessing you didnt have the religious experience so many others seem to have had last night? LOL”
LOL indeed. I’m seeing it in my friends. All of sudden McCain is the greatest gift God has given our country.
Is there a party groupie in the house that can explain this?
The man could have opened his speech with a partial birth abortion and closed it with a homosexual rape and the true believers would be on their knees with tears in their eyes, praising him for his moderation.
How stupid can this population be?
After I heard McCain praise migrant workers and their kids last night, while in the next breath McCain promises to retrain Americans that have lost their jobs..
And he didn't utter one single word about this violent invasion of millions.... Good Grief. Not a freaking word....

For example, I think McCain (and Palin if she has to take over) would try to appoint pro-life judges. But after amnesty, I also believe that the leftists will have huge majorities and eventually take over all 3 branches, (no more pro-life judges, more socialism, leftists push through everything they want), but perhaps McCain does not see that far into the future.
From the platform: Global competitiveness will increasingly require an entrepreneurial culture of cooperation and team work. Making the best talent part of our team is the rationale for the H-1B visa program, which needs updating to reflect our need for more leaders in science and technology while we take the necessary steps to create more of them in our own school systems. By complementing the U.S. work force with needed specialists from abroad, we can make sure American companies and their jobs remain here at home.
OK, my prediction is that they (both parties) will try to increase the H-1B quotas to numbers far greater than the increases (if any) of new jobs for engineers, scientists, etc. And if I am correct, that would decrease the opportunities and wages of engineers, and discourage US students from studying engineering and science. Which would feed a vicious cycle in which they would increase H-1Bs even faster.
I say continue the H-1B program, but don't make the quotas so high that you take jobs from US citizens.
The platform says lower taxes on business. If they can do that in congress it will help, but I'm afraid that even if the jobs are not there, they will keep pushing for unlimited H-1Bs.
50 years from now, I hope we don't have a country in which workers lack the technical skills to compete in the world economy, and lack the skills needed for our own defense.
Thanks D1. Come back to the forums when you can.
Ha...if you’re a traitor, join the club.
I believe that the NAU agenda will make illegal immigration a thing of the past and with it (NAU) will go our government as we know it...like the EU, making us beholden to a whole system of laws much different than what our constitution dictates.
Sarah, or no Sarah, I’m not voting for either candidate.
LOL indeed. Im seeing it in my friends. All of sudden McCain is the greatest gift God has given our country.
We've seen it all this in the past.
Pretty soon they'll have threads worshiping these politicians, and anyone questioning anything will be attacked and labeled a troll.
lol...It's like a bad movie that never ends.
Yeah I’m thinking pod people myself. These are the same people who laugh about Obama being treated as some sort of messiah.
Gonna be real interesting around here when reality sets in.
>>I believe that the NAU agenda will make illegal immigration a thing of the past and with it (NAU) will go our government as we know it...like the EU, making us beholden to a whole system of laws much different than what our constitution dictates.<<
That would do it. I hope you are wrong, I don’t know.
>>Sarah, or no Sarah, Im not voting for either candidate.<<
I wish McCain would understand how destructive his “comprehensive immigration reform” is. I don’t have to make up my mind about voting now. Neither ticket is really what I want.
Sorry to keep harping on this "single issue" folks, the "single issue" of our country being destroyed polito-demographically through massive AMNESTY coming our way next year. Sarah or no Sarah.
What we can expect from McCain....

I suspect, because McCain ALWAYS uses this scenario as an excuse,he will want that EVERY illegal alien should be given amnesty because a small percentage of non-citizens are in our military.
It’s amazing to me that folks actually believe his V.P. choice suddenly changes all that.
Yeah, the great orator couldn't even take a definative stand on that issue.
Yes, people are losing their jobs due to the influx of illegals. I guess he wants them retrained so that they can ask 'do you want fried with that' in spanish.
Defense? Why worry about defense when we are going to be annexed by Mexico. /sarcasm
And we are not at all sure what her current position on immigration is.
