Rapid-response team of female surrogates is being readied to take on the Republican ticket.

Sen. Barack Obama will increasingly lean on prominent Democratic women to undercut Gov. Sarah Palin and Sen. John McCain, dispatching Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to Florida on Monday and creating a rapid-response team to deploy female surrogates to battleground states, Obama advisers said Thursday.

Clinton's campaign event in Florida, her first for Obama since the Democratic convention, will include a forceful response to the searing attacks and fresh burst of energy that Palin injected into the race with her convention speech on Wednesday, Obama aides said.

With the McCain-Palin team courting undecided female voters, including some who backed Clinton in the Democratic primaries, Obama aides said they were counting on not only Clinton but also Democratic female governors to criticize Palin -- and, by extension, McCain. Those governors include Janet Napolitano of Arizona and Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas.

Some Democrats were urging Obama's campaign not to underestimate the potential power of Palin's speech. On liberal talk-radio shows and on left-leaning blogs, some Democrats said the Obama campaign should fight back hard to avoid being caricatured as Sen. John Kerry was four years ago when he ran against President Bush. Some party strategists warned that Palin's personal narrative as a "hockey mom" with a special-needs child would appeal to some undecided women.

**SNIP**

David Axelrod, the Obama campaign's chief political strategist, said Obama would not raise questions about Palin's experience. Axelrod said the campaign would work instead to impress upon voters the seriousness of the race and continue to try to link the McCain-Palin team to Bush.

QUICK - name three things that make Hussein Obomber qualified to become president.

Give it up. Heck, even 'Plugs' Imbibing can't do it...

Bring in Hillary? Not a wise move. She may just start campaigning for herself.

Why does Obama need to recruit girls to fight these battles? Why do we have to have a cat fight using Dem. women against Palin?

If women have truly made it in politics, why do you need women to criticize another woman candidate?

Did you catch Greta Van Sustern's interview with Rush Limbaugh this evening?

Rush stated that some "unforseen" circumstances might knock Biden out of the race in the near future, and Obama might make some sort of last ditch effort to grab Hillary.

It is my understanding that Hillary does not want to be #2 to Obama.

What have you heard?

David Axelrod, the Obama campaign's chief political strategist, said Obama would not raise questions about Palin's experience.

I predicted to a dear liberal friend of mine last Friday that the media would viciously attack Gov. Palin on "experience" but would soon be asked quietly to back off because it was killing the Annointed One.

I would not be surprised if Hillary torpedoes Obama’s campaign

Sarah has shown you can be feminine and still be a tough campaigner. Hillary is so mannish in her behavior and mannerisms. Sarah may appeal to lots of soccer mom/hockey mom type women, even if they don’t agree with Sarah on abortion.

That’s the other mistake the left makes, thinking that the “women’s issues” especially abortion, are a litmus test for women voters in general.

Not a great idea Barry, relying on the person who most benefits from you losing this election.

Why not pick Hillary for his VP candidate if he needs her perspective and campaign help?

Hello?! Is there anyone at home at the DNC?

Is Hillary gonna bump off Joe? She’d never do that, would she?

He’s dragging in Sibelous, Granholm, AND Hillary to act as as a “Hit-Sqad” and attack Palin.

The Obama campaign must be seeing some HORRIBLE internal polling if they are groveling to Clinton women to save them.

Rapid-response team of female surrogates

When do the talking heads start whining that Obama's using these people "only because they're WOMEN and he's trying to woo WOMEN voters"?
