Palin: 30 Fund-Raisers in 60 Days
Wall Street Journal ^ | 9/4/08 | Mary Jacoby

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will appear at around 30 fund-raising events in the next two months leading up to Election Day – about one every two days on average, officials with Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign said today.

“She is proving as much in demand as Sen. McCain,” said former Commerce Department Secretary Bob Mosbacher, general chairman of the McCain campaign and a top fundraiser.

Some Republican fund-raisers had a wait-and-see attitude toward the little known Palin after her surprise selection as McCain’s running mate last week, Mosbacher said. But any doubts were “laid to rest” after her acceptance speech before the Republican National Convention here Wednesday night, he added.

CNN is pushing a story of how Gov. Palin has motivated Obama fans to donate millions for Obama. Duh! But millions more will be raised for McCain because he hasn’t overtapped many deep pockets while millions of small pockets will contribute. And remember that Obama is getting his money direct while McCain/Palin supporters are donating directly to the RNC because they lived up to the promise of public financing while Obama used the canard “the system is broken” and thus went back on his word. This will be a good issue that McCain and Palin will bring up time after time after time.

Palin needs to do townhall meetings so she introduce herself to the American people and show the people that the media is lying about her.

I'm holding out hope she carves out a quick visit to Bill Russell in his campaign against ex-Marine Jack Murtha. But whether she does or not, the GOP is undoubtedly on the offensive now. And as we see McCain/Palin receive a bump in the polls and a huge bump in enthusiasm & money, I expect we'll see numbers improve a wee bit for House and Senate races across the country.

I support Palin and think she’s a great choice for McCain’s running mate, but the sad fact is, I believe that the upcoming Enquirer smear campaign and the job the rest of the media is doing to destroy her will force her to give up her run for Vice President. I don’t think she will survive this politically. The pro-abortion liberal media culture will not allow this woman to make an impact on potentially millions of women in this country. The example she sets is horrifying to them, and with their power and monopoly of all things media, they will prevail. Just my opinion.

I would like to see the break down on the donations. My guess is that John McCain's $10 million last weekend were greater in number of people and in smaller amounts, while Obama’s were all large dollar donors (and Soros funneled)

Yes, the left and the media have their knives sharpened for Sarah Palin ... but they will miss their mark and have nothing but boomerang marks left on their rear-ends. The vetting process on Palin began months ago - and this is one tough lady that will not cave to such elitist and shrill attacks. Sarah Palin represents the best new face of conversatism and the base is beyond energized. We are now ... all Sarah Palin!

What CNN isn’t reporting is Obama’s campaign is going to be launching a commercial blitz starting tomorrow for a weekend roll out to get Palin off the front page.

His campaign has a lot of money...but with the addition their cushion is gone. They are going to have to spend their war chest.

Ain't gonna happen. Palin is a superstar. I just saw her sitting next to Cindy McCain. Yay, Gov. Palin!

McCain's speech is starting.

She has already persuaded me to give...I’m not a rich Republican, but I gave $100 to the McCain campaign and $100 to the RNC.

God help America.

I can’t say. I’d recommend scouring the McCain/Palin website, or perhaps an even better approach might be to contact a local GOP headquarters.

What if there is proof that Palin did have some sort of extramarital affair? I don’t believe that she did, but I can’t know for sure because I don’t know the woman. If any kind of dirt like this on her proves true, she cannot remain on the ticket.

Huge mistake by the McCain campaign. 30 fundraisers in 60 days is a frenetic pace - she'll get worn out. Let her do maybe 1 or 2 major fundraisers a week and give that gal some R & R with her beautiful family. McCain is going to overexpose her & that's a bad move.

Yeah, we can't have politicians committing adultery! ROTFL!!!

Palin is not going anywhere, except to the Old Executive Office building in January.
