If one reads this piece cursorily one might believe it actually specifies some sort of accomplishment somewhere. The addition of the emphasis below demonstrates that that is certainly not the case:

"He helped pass a far-reaching ethics and campaign finance bill in the Illinois state Senate and made the issue a priority on arriving in Washington. Much to the displeasure of his colleagues, Obama promoted an outside commission to handle Senate ethics complaints. He co-authored the lobbying reform bill awaiting President Bush's signature and pushed -- again to the dismay of some colleagues -- to include a provision requiring lawmakers to report the names of their lobbyist-bundlers." He has co-sponsored bills to overhaul the presidential public financing system and public financing of Senate campaigns.

I have an open mind about that. Your refusal to get suckered in to the losing game bolsters your claim.

The absence of "silent evidence" (the points that liberals, specially totally ignorant ones) where a few inconsequential "facts" are challenged but the really big and true ones are ignored is the classic tactic of the anarchists and socialists.

Biden mixed up Osama Bin Laden and Barack Obama again yesterday.

The evening was full of Biden-isms, including the inevitable Obama/Osama slip, made when Biden was discussing the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border "where Obama, Osama Bin Laden lives, and Obama wants to go to get him."

But conservatives are aparently "racist" when we point out the Democrats' gaffes.

It was right after her speech. Palin was waving to the crowd and her family came on stage. Katie Courics voice came on saying how the speech seemed to go well and the crowd loved her. THen she noted how Palin went after Obama and that there would obviously be some fact checking to the charges she levied but the speech seemed to have gone over well. Very loose paraphrase but I’m sure a transcript can be found.

I don’t watch that network either, but my wife had programmed the DVR to record the speech which would watch after the kids went to bed. I wasn’t thrilled about watching it on that network, but, I did and caught that Couric snipet. Also noticed that they did a camera shot from behind Palin, making sure the caught the teleprompter rolling. I don’t recall 1 shot in the obama speech that showed the actual rolling words on the telepromter. I’m sure others noticed it.

This is a tactic that Democrats use every election cycle to attack Republicans. Democrats intentionally propose spending increases that are sometimes twice the level of inflation (e.g. 14%), yet if Republicans only agree to half that increase—still a 7% increase—they call it a cut in a program. They did this throughout the Clinton Administration when the GOP controlled congress, claiming Republicans were cutting Medicare, Welfare, School Lunch programs, etc., just because Republicans wouldn’t agree to the Dems unsustainable increases.

Thankfully, Gingrich and that Congress was much more proactive at explaining these details, which was one of the reasons we finally got Welfare Reform and a Balanced Budget by 1997—and we didn’t even experience the gangs of kids that democrats claimed would be roving the streets thanks to these “cuts”:)

Good point. His true believers cite his association with only two bills in the Illinois Senate, two bills for which there was probably little of no opposition. No wonder this intrepid leader lost his nerve 130 times when he voted "present" when he couldn't make up his mind on the other bills.

Methinks he must have lost his trepidness and is simply another opportunist following in the footsteps of Kerry, Gore, Dukakis, Mondale and Carter. Coupled with his ideological blindness, Obama could hardly be a less likely candidate for president--historically speaking, as Fred Thompson remarked.

They are saying Huck lied when he said Palin got more votes for mayor than Biden got for President

They are counting votes Biden got while running for a party nomination to debunk the huck, but that’s false, Biden got ZERO votes for President because the election isn’t until November and he’s not on the ballot.
