Palin's female backers offer steadfast support

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The moment John McCain selected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, she ignited a fervent base of supporters – socially conservative women – who see her as the embodiment of their ideals and finally, a reason to embrace the ticket.

No amount of clamoring about teenage pregnancy is about to change that. Instead, it is stoking the ardor.

"She was a hockey mom, she became a mayor, she understands the values of America," said Roberta Combs, president of the Christian Coalition of America. "Every day, American women especially face challenges in their private lives, and surely she is no different."

Texas GOP chairwoman Tina Benkiser said she got goosebumps after hearing Ms. Palin was the vice presidential pick. Texas Eagle Forum president Cathie Adams called the bear-hunting, anti-abortion candidate "the kind of woman I've been looking for all along."

In the last four months, on top of being selected as Mr. McCain's running mate, Ms. Palin has returned to work after giving birth to a special-needs child, hit the campaign trail with five kids at home and told the world she has an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter.

To many fighting for what they call traditional family values, these challenges only make Ms. Palin more endearing and more representative of the trials that women endure. And the McCain-Palin team will need such voters in the tight race against the Democrats.

"If she can run a state, she's smart enough to figure out how to get her family taken care of," Ms. Combs said.

The Establishment media lynching of her daughter only strengthens our resolve. They are only mad that 2 babies are going to survive.

Pray for W, the Palins and Our Troops

Sarah gives me reason to vote this time without holding my nose. She’s the breath of fresh air this country needs. She has good strong morals and values. She’s a go-getter and seems like a generally nice person. But none of that has anything to do with her gender.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Prayers are needed - for her and for the republic for which she stands - We have to get through today, get her through the barbed wire filter of ABCNNBCBS so SHE can speak clearly tonight.

I think Senator John McCain won the presidency last Friday. He energized almost all conservatives, gained many more independents and PUMAs, put family values and abortion back into the mix, fired up the Evangelicals and other Christian sects, told women it’s okay to be a mother and a powerful leader, stirred up the media and enhanced his maverick brand by tapping another new broom as his running mate.

"The Establishment media lynching of her daughter only strengthens our resolve."

It's the modern day version of burning at the stake.

The leftist media is acting like the Taliban. Make no mistake..if it was legal in this country the collective "mob" would be stoning her for having a family and entering politics with the "wrong" view.

My husband is the County Republican Chair, so we get a lot of calls from people wanting to find out where to start, where to get info, etc.

I got one yesterday from a woman who said she was pro-choice, life time Democrat who is furious about the way the Dems treated Hillary, and activated by the way they’re treating Governor Palin.

Half the time, I was sure she was a covert spy, trying to catch me at some un-PC speech. Most of the time I wanted to argue with her logic and preconceptions about how to fix the Dems and the US.

But I was good, sometimes quiet when I wanted to rant, told her she was welcome into the tent, and that, sure, she can call me when she gets the womens’ round table set up, so we can all sit around and discuss the way Obama mis-treats women.

She can throw me a harpoon to use any day against the Olbermans and Beltway hacks.

Enough of this garbage. Every single working mother with a family who has attempted to break through that ceiling has had to put up with the Olbermans and O’Donnells of the world.

When I broke management’s glass ceiling in 1980, it was the women who were more than vicious and tried at every turn to undermine me, and it was the liberal men, like Olberman and the rest, the “liberated guys” who really worked to get me fired.

You go, girl. Don’t let these clowns get you down.

If you notice, the women in the media who are slamming you aren’t in the upper echelons of the industry. They are just the female water carriers for the true powers and decision makers.

Of course they are burning her at the stake, she’s a heretic. You have to worship at the alter of abortion in their religion.

Pray for W, Sarah and Our Troops

The viciousness of the attacks on Gov. Palin and her daughter could back-fire massively, as other mothers see it happening. Many of them don’t like it. Many of the staunch Hillary supporters thought Hillary was unfairly attacked, as well.

The MSM may have finally stepped in it, deep.

Andrea Mitchell says only the “uneducated” PUMAs would vote for McCain/Palin. You should have seen the PUMA boards after that! These women are furious with the treatment of Sarah Palin, and they are going to be a strong force come November.

Today, I am going to fight the MSM for the way they handled the convention coverage last night, and for their continued sewer trolling which they report as news. First up, Alan Colmes...

Pssst...
Hey Christy,
Not to give away our little secret, but...
It's not just socially conservative women that are fired up.
Us socially conservative MEN are excited too!
Up until last Friday, I was bound and determined to vote for "None of the above."
Now, well my tag line says it all.

I have to wonder why we haven’t heard any Hillary Clinton comments since the Palin announcement.

Hillary’s silence speaks louder than anything else I have heard.

The entire group at MSNBC has lost ALL credibility and CNN is not far behind. I flip over to those networks out of curiosity just to see how they are covering the election. After the last speech of the night, they were all visibly angry, bitter and even tongue tied. The mere fact that MSNBC has Keith Olberman as their lead election anchor speaks volumes. The network obviously can’t survive without the michael moore/george soros audience.

She probably stroked out when she heard about Mrs. Palin and is unconscious in an IC Unit in an undisclosed underground bunker out in the desert.

Unfortunately, they have the technology to rebuild the beast, but at her advanced age, it’s taking a while to find parts, LOL!

Ya know, we always thought that Mort Kondracki(sp?) of Britt Hume’s Fox News was a pretty “down the middle of the road” commentator; BUT last evening and last Friday evening he jumped the shark with us! His first comment about Sarah being chosen for VP was “..BUT she’s a woman!!” Our jaws dropped. Last evening on Britt’s show, he made the outrageous statement that “Sarah better stay home and take care of her kids because her 17 year old daughter obviously hadn’t been well taken care of!!” Blew us away!! Mort, you’ve shown us that you’re a male chauvinist pig!

Say what you want about Hillary. I poke enough fun at her.

~But, she was treated badly, from the debates where she always, yes she did, get the first question to allow the Sockpuppet to echo, “Me, TOO! But Better!” onto the media slams.

Fair is good and just in our society, but we have a bunch of rabid clowns running the media who think they run the country and that has to stop.

It is going to take all of us on both sides to wrench the political process away from them and restore an actual, factual campaign process and not what has devolved into a Pravda-on-the-Potomac war for media ratings.

Damn right!

I was laid off from two jobs when I was pregnant with my two children. Both times by sexist bosses who thought I should stay home with the kids. I want to send Sarah Palin's picture to both of those bastards today and tell them to shove it.

As a young College Republicans president in the 1970s, I was told to my face by the state GOP chairman that women had no place in leadership, in the Party or the country.

I recently left a job with a Fortune 100 company that has been losing billions of dollars and shedding employees. This company has systematically gotten rid of every single woman that was in a signficant management job, including me.

You don't have to be a whining liberal to know that sex discrimination is alive and well in America. Men are hanging on to their world for dear life, and they continue to make things tough for women who do not want to be men (i.e. women who want to be mothers, sisters, and daughters). They continue to expect women who want to get ahead to not have children. Sarah Palin is a direct assault on them. We should not be surprised that they are coming at her hammer and tong. But I have a feeling she is tough enough to take it.
