Race War?

At the Philadelphia Daily News, Fatimah Ali warns:

If McCain wins, look for a full-fledged race and class war, fueled by a deflated and depressed country, soaring crime, homelessness - and hopelessness!

Sounds like a pretty enfeebled bunch of warriors to me. Deflated, depressed, homeless, and hopeless. What makes Ali so sure this gloomy mob will be able to rally themselves and rise up against the rest of the country? Oh yeah, that’s right: hope.

This time I anyone driving the truck what happens if they allow the crowd in the street to block their path and they stop the truck. Best to keep moving and get out of there and deal with the consequences later than to allow yourself to get stopped and surrounded and attacked.

A standout moment was when a TV reporter stuck a mike and camera in the face of a sweet old black resident and asked her what she thought about what was going on. She looked up the street to the gang of thugs trashing and burning some cars and softly remarked “I think those ni**ers are gonna get some of us black folks killed.”

That is a truth that none of us should forget. Idiots who try to start a race war don't speak for their whole race, and while I will most certainly put down any individual SOB who picks a fight, I will never be suckered into targeting an entire racial group indiscriminately. My dividing line is between the good Americans and the anti-Americans (thugs, Leftists, Black Nationalists, etc.) regardless of what color they are.

That's the key right there. When you talk about those ignorant enough to take to the streets to grab any club-like object and attack anything that looks different, you're talking about a small group of people who get up around noon (no need for a job), anxiously await their "entitlements" (extorted from those who do work for a living), and as a corollary don't have the means or foresight to travel further than the two-block radius they spend their life in.

The breathless fears of some sort of race war in this country are silly. The bottom of the underclass in the US consists of a bunch of disorganized criminals whose greatest aspiration in life is buying shiny new sneakers, a 40 of malt liquor and some porn. They're not coming to your suburb to burn down your house nor are they even likely to come anywhere near the good parts of the cities. At most, they'll do what they've been doing for decades- wreck their own neighborhoods and brutalize their own people.

This is a warning, and one that many are hearing. And it won't be a race war, it will be a civil war. Many non minorities will threaten violence, and once it starts things will get out of hand.

Well, I live just outside of Georgetown in DC, which is pretty much the definition of the "good part of a city."

And there will be a lot of young radicals of all races involved. Do not make the mistake of thinking it will be all “blacks”. This will be much worse than racial riots.

And that is my point also.

The motivation behind statements like is not race, it is ideology. If this happens, it will not be a race war, but a war of ideas.

There are just as many, if not more, hotheads who say the same thing who are not black.
