McCain camp's detailed review of Palin
Washington Times ^ | September 1, 2008 | LIZ SIDOTI

Sarah Palin's path to the Republican ticket started with her name on a list _ and a team of some 25 people poring through public records searching for trouble spots without her knowledge. Then came the 70-question survey and a nearly three-hour interview.

The review officially ended Thursday, when John McCain asked the Alaska governor to be his running mate.

In the days since, Republicans and Democrats have privately questioned whether the Arizona senator chose the first-term governor without fully looking into her background. McCain's campaign has vehemently defended the review.

Arthur B. Culvahouse Jr., the lawyer who conducted the review, told The Associated Press in an interview Monday that Palin underwent a "full and complete" examination before McCain chose her. Asked whether everything that came up as a possible red flag during the review already has been made public, Culvahouse said: "I think so. Yeah, I think so. Correct."

Ugh, they should have told us sooner...

The media is looking to define this woman, she needs to get out there and beat on so that she actually has a voice in how she is defined.

They media will define her the way they see fit regardless of this. But, I agree, we need to work overtime to try and counter their smears.

She needs to be on the talk shows defining herself. Else her enemies will do it for her.

It doesn’t matter what she says or does. Some liberal “journalist” at a newspaper or magazine will likely come up with something that will stick, then the late light “comedians” will run with it.

The left is desperate to define Sarah Palin and make it stick before she gets the chance to define herself for the nation Wednesday.

I heard Newt say today that Sarah is the biggest threat to the liberal women's groups that they have had. They will be working overtime to smear her. We had better get used to the rough ride ahead. The media and the dimocRATS will do everything in their power to stop her.

“Among the findings: Palin had once received a citation for fishing without a license.”

It’s over.

Say hello to President Obama. LOL

Don’t much care what anyone says. I am voting for her because she is a leader and she is what we need.

Hi bablah, things have not taken the turn I thought they would either but I def. think the ‘Rats are overplaying their hand.
This will not be what we are discussing on election day.
She is emminently more qualified than their Pres. candidate as a VP.

I'm worried that they will never run a positive story about her, and our ticket will be sunk because all the “man on the street” will hear is just how “bad” she is.

>>>Ugh, they should have told us sooner...

I’m not so sure...

They let the netroots take the media down a road, and then when the whole truth comes out, the media is left with a burning bag of crap.

I could care less her kid got pregnant..her husband got a dui when he was a kid and she fired a cop who was harrassing her sister.
It is time for Rush and shaun to open up on Obama with a huge broadside of Obamas past. It will make palin look like the pope.
The Rats are desperate but this is pathetic.

Don't worry, Sarah will have a prime time speech in a couple of days and thanks to the scandal-mongering mainstream media, she will have a huge audience.

Since Friday, Sarah has utterly dominated the news cycle. Even that hurricane swirling around down there in Louisiana took a backseat to Sarah today. If Gustav was a Cat 3, then Sarah must have been a Cat 5. Did the Democrats really have their convention last week? It seems so long ago. What did Obama say anyhow? I don't remember. And what about that Joe Biden? Did he speak at all? I can't remember.

Anyhow, remember how the Democrats were chortling over the weekend about the prospects of that hurricane disrupting the RNC? Well as they say, be careful what you wish for. Indeed, the Republicans did pretty much cancel Day One but all that did was prevent Bush and Cheney from speaking which has to really bum out the Democrats who were hoping that their presence would help the Obama campaign.

Now the convention can focus more on the reinvigorated candidate John McCain and his dynamic running mate who is sure to win the hearts and minds of many undecided voters out there as well as pull in many that were leaning Obama.

Yes, talk about unintended consequences. The Dems will soon wish that hurricane hit someplace down in Mexico instead and that they left all that tabloid stuff about Palin's family alone.
