This is hardly unusual given the history of tropical storm formation; not all of the depressions become full-blown storms and certainly not killer hurricanes; it looks like we’re in for about 2-4 weeks of high generation and then overall conditions will allow us to slide into fall.
Having checked half of the La. stations for rainfall totals since midnight last night the greatest accumulation at an official station seems to be less than 3 inches.
Seven years ago here by Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, we had a thunderstorm that stalled directly overhead and dropped over 3.4 inches in four hours.
Forgot its name, though.
