We are just beginning to get a little rain, not much with light winds from the outer bands of Gustav here in east Texas. We need some rain and this event may not really give us that much but then Ike is in the wings. In fact I think I’ll leave most things put up and wait and see what Ike decides to do.

Papa--

Before you get too complimentary about NN, know she cooked one night last week and didn't invite us for dinner!

We're heading down to the Fl panhandle tomorrow via Memphis. We'll try not to bump into IKE on the way home! Ugg.

You take care, Guen! Be well.

Just heard an interview with the Plaquemines Parish President on WWL/NO that part of the levee there is very saturated and very dangerous to be near now. I didn’t catch exactly where and which bank, although it seemed like it was the east bank.

"We were so drenched and saturated with Fay, this will not be good."

Georgia and NC still need the rain, I've read.

It's coming closer to us and we are not even under "special needs" evac and I understand y'all had mandatory.

My friend's left B... at 6 pm Friday and were in Kountz at 9:30.

We've been getting winds and rain for about an hour. Track has it about 25 miles to the east of us at 4 this afternoon.

This might be over for us before we go to bed tonight!

A little bit of rain, a little bit of bluster here, outside of Port Arthur, TX. Pretty darned minor. I’m glad I didn’t evacuate, like 80% of the neighborhood did.

Just saw some video of Baton Rouge. Looks like it’s been nailed, too.

Braithwaite. Along Mississippi River. South of New Orleans. US Coast Guard Reservation is across the river from them.

I know! Palin fever sweeps the Caribbean as everyone cheers for Sarah. Not a hint of blue to be found!

Just fine, thanks.

I'm going out for Chinese Food in about an hour...I just called, they're open.
