"I have to feed my family," she (wife of detained illegal alien) said.

And we American citizens don't?

Apparently nobody told them Americans won’t do those jobs.

Very good point. If they really want to make a dent in illegal immigration, they would go at the true masterminds.

The factory should be under new management and ownership.

Did they take any of the management who were obviously in on the whole thing?

They should be the first ones hauled off to jail.

Now (hopefully) legal workers will get the jobs and the company will have to pay the legal and appropriate rate of pay.

They will unionize - the illegals won’t.
That’s the real issue about illegal immigration - it has nothing to do with “jobs Americans won’t do”.

The usual. Nothing because the law has such huge loopholes in it where all they have to say is, “Well, the documents they presented LOOKED okay to me”, and they are off the hook, Scot free. The problem is that there is no official verification system nor is there a law requiring it.

She said her husband, who has been living in the United States for 10 years and working on an immigration case for six, was on the verge of achieving permanent residency.

And what is wrong with this little mexican family going home to their great country. Nothing, I'm more than willing to chip in on the bus ticket.

Unions are legal, hiring illegals is not. Besides I doubt these are big money union employees. The last factory I worked in was a union shop and I topped out at $12 an hour. That didn’t stop them from hiring illegals for $6.
