CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Some survivors of Hurricane Katrina say they aren't getting enough attention from the Bush administration, so they're turning to Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez for help.

Ishmael Muhammad of the New Orleans Survivor Council has visited Venezuela three times to seek funding and forge ties. He says the group hopes to raise $45,000 for a center to house 50 people as they rebuild their homes.

Yeah. No racial profiling by me. But I'd check to see if Venezuela is sponsoring terrorist just to be on the safe side.

He tried to go to Iran.

But due to President Bush's unlawful hatred of Muslims, he was denied.

Homeland security should never stop watching this POS.

“Some survivors of Hurricane Katrina say they aren’t getting enough attention from the Bush administration”

The lazy, worthless, pieces of human debris are just bums.

When the floods hit here in Iowa, there were some people who had worked in both places cleaning up, who spoke of the contrasts.
They mentioned that the NO people would SIT IN THEIR HOMES and watch as volunteers came to help clean up their neighborhoods.
The bums had an entitlement mentality that they should be taken care of by someone else. Just sickening..

We need to cut the size of our government by 1/3, and cut these types of people off from the trough.

Katrina survivors...

Isn't practically the entire states of Mississippi and Louisiana, and half of Florida, all "Katrina survivors?"

How long does it take to build a house? Any more time and they should become elligible for “this old house” on PBS.

If we had only gotten them on the School Bus’s, none of this would have happened.

Here's the NOSC's website...

www.peoplesorganizing.org

They solicit donations, but I can't find any other info on how much and from whom...

Also, doesn't look like they're tax-exempt, so they may not have to abide by reporting requirements.

Call on me! Call on me! I know the answer. BTW, is this the guy walking through the water with a case of beer? That's always a fun picture on these threads.

::::::::
This country is far too passive, not only to what it lets flow across our open borders (Thank You Washington, DC), but also in what it lets become a U.S. citizen. It is the byproduct of a government that puts politics and power well ahead of the welfare of America and its REAL citizens.

I read some stories about how the refugees were "illegally" housed in a concentrated way in the southwest part of town (I guess the Westpark section from Bissonnet northward to Bellaire), in run-down apartments built in the late 1970's/early 1980's but not maintained since the oil bust of 1987. I read that crime went way up, and some people were killed when parts of apartments collapsed.
