Democratic Convention Begins with Thunderous Denunciation of Abortion
Christian News Wire ^ | August 24, 2008

DENVER, August 24 /Christian Newswire/ -- In its first "official event" of the 2008 Democratic Convention, Pentecostal preacher and Bishop Charles E. Blake of the Church of God in Christ, took to the pulpit of an Interfaith Gathering and unequivocally denounced abortion, saying God could not be pleased with millions of lives being ended by elective abortion.

President of the pro-life National Clergy Council, Rev. Rob Schenck, who was present at the event, said, "This is an amazing development. Bishop Blake was crystal clear in condemning abortion. There was nothing subtle about it. He identified himself as a pro-life Democrat and blatantly challenged his party's historic position on abortion. He also challenged Barack Obama to pursue his promise to reduce abortions and to ensure 'viable' alternatives. Just this one moment is a significant turn for the Democratic Party."

Rev. Schenck said the hall, filled with several thousand, fell uneasily silent as Blake spoke against abortion. Rev. Schenck is available for further comment, weekend and after hours at 703-447-7686 and business hours at 202-546-8329 extension 103.

I just pray that it was because they were listening.

For a second I thought this was about the Dems denouncing abortion. Well when hell freezes over. Bishop Blake should have gone a step further and endorsed McCain before the DNC. THAT would have had several thousand heads exploded.

That preacher wasn’t properly vetted. Whoever scheduled him will receive a severe admonishment.

Nothing like a punch in the chops to get things started.

Another misleading headline. The only ‘thunderous’ thing was the silence of the thousands.

All calculated to draw in more voters. The Dems are shameless.

This won’t change a thing.

Next to whimpering about imaginary global warming and wringing their hands in guilt about slavery, there’s nothing the RATS enjoy more than abortions. From the early “day after” murders to the post-birth “mistakes that need to be corrected,” nothing brightens the day of your common Democrat more than a nice, fresh, dead infant.

As for the “anti-abortion” speech. Forgive me for not believing the RATS to be the noble and honest creatures they imagine themselves to be. Could someone have arranged this, simply as a PR stunt, or as an intentional illustration of their new-found “big tent”? “COME ON! JOIN THE RAT PARTY! SEE? WE EVEN ALLOW PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY’RE AGAINST KILLING BABIES IN!.”
Hmm. Yeah. Right. They would do that in a heartbeat, because they’re hypocritical to the very foundation of their very teeny souls.

Except in the next breath he accused pro-lifers of abandoning children after they were born.

He then got a standing ovation.

This should fit right in with their patriotism themes. I hear one speaker will declare that the sun rises in the West.

For a moment, I thought maybe a Roman Catholic bishop might have had some courage dealing with Democrat pro-abortionists. But as usual, that was not the case.

That preacher wasn’t properly vetted. Whoever scheduled him will receive a severe admonishment.

Will the admonishment be before or after said scheduler gets Fort Marcy Parked?
