Smart move in an attempt to bring unity to the party........

DENVER – Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, hoping to united the Democratic Party and cement her future in it, will gather her hard-won primary delegates Wednesday at a reception where she is expected to formally release them to Barack Obama.

Clinton has invited her pledged delegates to a reception at the Colorado Convention Center, not far from the main Democratic National Convention arena.

This is SO funny. The scene from Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar comes to mind. You know, where all the senators come together and stab Caesar in the back. Hehehehehehe... These people are so stupid.

Why would she want to do that just when her Florida delegates are being restored and Michigan is a good bet to follow? It makes no sense.

Hopw can she pull off the coup that way?

A Democratic official told The Associated Press Sunday, a day before the convention begins, that she is expected to release her delegates at the Wednesday event. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to discuss details publicly.

Which side of the Dem divide is this official's affiliation?

The key word here is expected. There is a big difference in saying "Hillary says she is going to release her delegates" and saying "Hillary is expected to release her delegates". It sounds to me like wishful thinking of the Obamamites.

Post Script to my comment #18, if she does release them(which I doubt) the Puma people will feel betrayed by her as well as the party, the brown stuff will surely hit the fan big time.

Releasing delegates doesn’t mean anything. IMHO Obama will not accept the nomination. He is going to hear the word from God that it isn’t his time yet and tell his delegates to vote for Hillary.

After showing her good will in releasing her delegates, the vote will commence and she will receive the nomination. Courtesy of Obama. She will then select Obama as her VP.

And the world will rejoice. And the media will go nuts. And Obama will be revered. And history will be made. And Clinton will play every McCain commercial that praised her. And her debt will be paid off. And the RATS will forever remember that it was Operation Chaos that made this happen. And the Fairness Doctrine will be passed.

Thanks Rush.

Scarier and scarier. I want her to go away,, not hold her academy award speech re party unity - Hah. In a pig's eye - no pun intended.

Wait — if the lawsuit re The One's birth certificate sees more day light before Wednesday - she may be THE nominee.

"DENVER – Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, hoping to united the Democratic Party and cement her future in it, will gather her hard-won primary delegates Wednesday at a reception where she is expected to formally release them to Barack Obama."

IMHO, I wonder if the writer of this article really meant to say:

The ones that are already pledged have to vote for the candidate they are pledged to on the first ballot. I don’t know how it works if she releases them, I would think they could vote for whom ever they want. The super delegates can vote for whom ever they want even on the first ballot, I believe.

Wait...wait...Hillary! Can’t you get Rev. Wright to make just one more speech against America before then? Or for someone to talk about our Constitutional law and citizenship requirements for a presidential candidate, someone we can trust - like, hmmm, maybe Bill? You must have a plan! The Clinton’s never throw in the towel, particularly not because of a little rebel upstart. You are keeping something from us. </sarc>

I totally believe this story. I’ve been thinking that the stories about disunity are just meant to gain interest in the convention. She is going to put on a show of unity even if she doesn’t mean it because she wants the nomination in 2012.

Well, could be.

Or another possible scenario is that she would loudly tell them they are free to vote as they choose, publicly and on camera, while having quietly informed them beforehand that she really wants them to vote for her, and will reward them if they do so.

It might smooth things over with the Obamaphiles if she played the reluctant candidate, who was unexpectedly drafted by the delegates because Obama was doing so badly in the polls that they feared for the future of the party.

[I]f she does release them (which I doubt) the Puma people will feel betrayed by her as well as the party, the brown stuff will surely hit the fan big time.

The DNC never understands this. It thinks the "Clinton Supporters" will do whatever their Queen commands them to do. In reality, they hate Obama much more than they love Hillary. They will not vote for the Liberal Messiah and there's nothing Her Royal Lowness, or the DNC, can do about it.
