“His ancestry also provided him with the solid support of one of the party’s solidest non-elite constituencies, people who have done much of the party’s grunt work, black America.”

I actually read the article - unlike others who want to discuss dog eating.

Sadly, white-liberal-guilt is the sole power behind BHO's campaign and given that Blacks will vote for Barack in 96% it is only the liberals who (will make the difference) because they believe that he sends a message to the rest of the world of America's new enlightenment. I'm not sure if Obambi could even get elected to the Illinois Senate if he wasn't black but Geraldine Feraro already said that his skin color is his advantage.

My personal take is that Obamessiah has money, motivation and despite the drop in the last several weeks a good pole numbers. I grow afraid because having a Black President is more important than having a good president!

When I was growing up on a farm in Iowa, the standard rule concerning edible livestock was that any critter, that has a name, is safe from becoming Sunday dinner.

My sister and I had a pet turkey named “Tom” (how original...hey, we were kids) that we raised from a ‘chick’ and he was imprinted with the image of us being his mom.

He followed us around constantly like a spare shadow and always came out to meet us, getting off the school bus each afternoon. He’d come out and fan out his feathers and strut around a bit. It was his main, possibly only, talent.

In early November, word leaked out to us that he was going to be the main course for Thanksgiving dinner. The old rule had been over-ridden and Tom was about to be “axed” literally.

Come the day before Thanksgiving, we all dreaded what was about to happen and nobody would volunteer to be his executioner. Just thinking about it spread through the family to where we were all nearly in tears.

Happy ending:

We couldn’t bear to kill Tom for dinner, so we ate the dog.

It's amazing why obama bin biden thinks that anyone remotely cares about his childhood. It was what it was, and nothing is going to change that...but, I don't know many people with an intact frontal lobe that will vote for the jerk because he was once fed dog, or snake or whatever.

We've all had a childhood, and we could start our own forum like "Tales of my childhood", but, short of our own mothers...who would give a dem's arse about reading it?

Are we going to elect a extreme leftist based on a childhood anecdote, or mature, common sense?

He's offered nothing to mainstream Americans, just the "amerikans" who think America owes them something.

His never-ending bitterness from a childhood gone awry is not a good pick to carry around the nuclear football...he could snap at any moment.

It could be that he's tapped Token Joe Biden just to run interference and do the public bickering while obamamamama slinks around in the shadows taking care of things like getting the latest version of his COLB down to Kinko's for a quick Photoshop and reprint.

Barrraaacckkkkkk has lined up Token Joe to absorb, and fight, all of the vitrol stirring around the politosphere and lob grenades at McCain...magicians use this redirection and sleight of hand tomfoolery all the time...nothing to see here, move on.

Now, if McCain doesn't do anything stupid, like get hillary to be his VP, we can look forward to a rolicking good time for the next couple of months. Seat belts fastened, please.
