The question is (a) whether he was born in the US, and

If he was born somewhere else and his parents were married it's likely that he isn't eligible.

(b) whether his use of an Indonesian passport to go to Pakistan proves that he was once an Indonesian citizen and precludes him.

Why would having and using an Indonesian passport be a problem? It's doesn't put his citizenship in jeopardy according to the State Department.

It requires a lot of parsing of the Constitution and the term "natural born" to find a bar on presidential dual citizenship. Not really a "strict-constructionist" interpretation.

Probably. It's a political hot potato where many judges will find an excuse not to hear it. The ball-less wonders. But there is a case here against Obama.

It doesn’t prove anything, other than there are some things Obama has to answer to — quickly, before the convention roll-call vote. The legal issues are not the main point right now — it’s political.

Not that it matters in this case. The birth certificate is a non-issue. There are 4,750,912 things to hit Obambi with. This birth-certificate troofer business isn’t one of them.

Further down in the complaint, they claim that Obama went to Pakistan and used his Indonesian passport.

First of all, why did he have an Indonesian passport in the first place? Why did he not use his us PASSPORT.

Second, why is a 20 year old college student going to Pakistan? It’s not like Pakistan is a cultural center of the world or that it has such nice beaches and ski resorts.

Third, the complaint makes the request that Obama PROVE that he is eligible to be president of the US. Is that so unreasonable?

NO. the question is, was he born a citizen. you do NOT have to be born IN the us to be a us citizen. if you are born outside of the us, there are conditions that only one of your parents need to meet to make you a citizen.

Don’t get hung up on the legal issues. This is designed to give Obama a POLITICAL problem at the convention, not a short-term legal one.

If that's true then this is the abuse of the judiciary for political purposes. Not something conservatives should be happy with.

Ireland used to allow US citizens to claim an additional citizenship in Ireland if a grandparent was a native-born Irish citizen, even if the US citizen and his parents had never stepped foot in Ireland.

Do you not have to be an Indonesian citizen to have an Indonesian passport? How could he have gotten Indonesian citizenship other than being adopted by his stepfather? Citizenship requires residency, and I have seen no evidence, or even anyone claiming, that Obama lived in Indonesia after he returned to Hawaii. His whereabouts from entering the Punahou school until now are documented. How could he have gotten Indonesian citizenship? Or how could he get an Indonesian passport without citizenship? It just doesn’t make sense.

I agree with you! I cannot see how this guy can get ANY security clearance because of his association with known criminals who seek the violent overthrow of the US Constitution! That, in itself, should render him ineligible for president. Add to that his questionable travels, and citizenship issues and this guy is scary! (And I don't give d@mn about his skin color!)
