Durham, N.C. — The woman at the center of the 2006 scandal that rocked Duke University, Durham and the lives of the three lacrosse players she accused of raping her is coming out with a book.

Crystal Gail Mangum worked as an exotic dancer in March 2006, when she performed at a party hosted by several Duke lacrosse players.

It was at that party, Mangum alleged, that three white members of the team trapped her inside a bathroom and raped and sexually assaulted her. David Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann were later indicted on the allegations.

The claims also launched a local and national debate about race, politics, ethics and privilege.

Then-District Attorney Mike Nifong dismissed rape charges against the men in December 2006 after Mangum said she was not certain a rape occurred.

North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper dismissed the remaining charges of sexual assault and kidnapping in April 2007 and declared the former players innocent.

Oh, that was the reason?

It wasn't the legal noose tightening around his lying neck?

When I was in Durham, I went to a Duke University apparel store and bought a Duke Lacrosse T. I wear it all the time. Feels good.

I wanted a jersey, but they only had the Ts

Hmmmmm....this is a real stretch, but I have a funny feeling she’s going to be using a ghost writer.

If it does not bash Republicans or President Bush, don't expect Oprah or the MSM tour.

Who would buy this book other than Al Sharpton?

Tawana Brawley might want a copy.

Seriously though, Womyn’s studies professors all over the country will buy it. A few other people who work in rape counseling or women-related liberal activism but aren’t smart enough to figure out basic facts like “You can’t rape someone from a cab across town.”

It’ll be a best-seller here in Durham. Trust me. There’s still a very significant minority (cough) of people around here who believe her 100%, think she and The Fong got railroaded, and think the Rich White Yankee Boys over at Duke got away with something.

As long as they put her book in the “Fiction” section at the bookstore, it’s all good...

Reprinting a work in crayon is expensive so expect to shell out big bucks at Barnes & Noble.

Doing something demented can get one a book deal with which to promote ones agenda - OJ; Monica; the repulsive Mary Kay Letourneau who should not be allowed near any minors yet even was a guest on Larry King.

Crystal should have been charged with making false accusations. Since she was not, some TH still claim that something happened with the lacrosse players. This sends a terrible message.

Well, if there's one thing we know about Larry King, it's that he's not a minor.
