Estranged family members come out of the strangest places when the lottery is won or someone has presidential aspirations. These quiet individuals find a sense of power never felt before in their lives when a blood relative has hit it big or is about to hit it bigger. In Barack Obama’s case, Vanity Fair reported on a half-brother who was recently discovered living in a small shack in Kenya. Obama’s relative lives on less than $1 a month. National Public Radio found Cindy McCain’s half-sister, Kathleen Hensley Portalski, who is not only a Democrat but also felt slighted when McCain described herself “as an only child” in a previous NPR report. However, McCain did grow up without other siblings in a two parent household, while her half-sister grew up with a single mother. NPR continues to almost blame McCain for her sister’s “modest” past and current circumstances. EyeBlast.tv has the NPR audio report.
One lives in a one room shack with 1 dollar for the whole month and one has a modest living. Could anyone even compare the two?

Fairness Doctrine?
Any Fairness Doctrine that was fair would defund NPR...
Besides, Cindy McCain isn't running around authoring legislation to forcibly take $845 billion from hard working American taxpayers and ship it off to Africa (and God knows where else) to fight "global poverty."
And she isn't lecturing us about our "mean spiritedness" and how we treat "the least of our brothers."
Sounds like someone is jealous and has been all her life. Of course it’s understandable. Cindy is beautiful, has her father all her life (unlike the sister), is extremely wealthy... but it’s time to grow up. If she was living in a cardboard shack in a country it isn’t really easy to get ahead or even water, I’d think less of Cindy. As it is, we don’t know the dynamics of their situation.

How very "NPR" of them and how very embarassing to always be so very predictable and so impossibly silly. LOL Sheesh.
Cindy McCain may not have been Mr Hensley's only off spring but she is the only child of his marriage to Marguerite Smith Johnson Hensley. More importantly, Cindy is the off spring who inherited the bulk of his fortune, a fortune accumulated after his marriage to Marguerite. There was probably a good reason why he only saw Kathleen occasionally and why he left only a small bequeath to her in his will. Truth be known, that will is probably the reason Kathleen and her son are now whining publically. I doubt it is because Cindy rightfully says she is an only child and fails to mention two people she barely knows when talking about the large family she has as a result of her marriage to Senator McCain.
