John Edwards even LIED on TV about his "Favorite" Movies!

Some wives pick out their husband’s ties, while others, it seems, pick out their husband’s “favorite” film. DBKP found a video of John Edwards introducing the movie Dr. Strangelove, the “favorite” film he’d “chosen” for Turner Movie Classic’s series with politicians.

In August of 2004 John Edwards had this to say about his “favorite” film, Dr. Strangelove, the movie he’d never seen :

“I believe that one of the messages Kubrick was trying to send was that putting this kind of power and this potential holocaust in the hands of human beings, no matter who they are, is an extraordinarily dangerous thing,” Edwards says of the black comedy released at the height of the Cold War.”

Edwards was part of Turner Movie Classic series, “Party Politics and the Movies” which aired in 2004. Edwards’ wife Elizabeth admitted in a Slate magazine interview in December of 2007, that prior to the TCM series Edwards had never seen the movie, Dr. Strangelove. Elizabeth claimed her husband wasn’t a big “movie buff” and that the campaign staff “kicked around” an appropriate film for the Senator to introduce as one of his “favorites”. Elizabeth told writer Melinda Henneberger that her brother, a filmmaker, Jay Anania, gave Elizabeth a list of films to chose from and that it was Elizabeth who picked out Dr. Strangelove as one of Edwards’ “favorite films”.

Edwards may have “winged” it during the film. Elizabeth stated that she “wasn’t in charge of making him see it” even though, by her own admission, she was the one who picked it out.

It IS a good movie. One of the best. I’m glad that Edwards hasn’t seen it. I can like it with a clear conscience.

He is a trial lawyer.

Lying and play-acting is what he does best.

Oh, that and a keen eye for class-warfare oriented jurors.

It is shocking to think that democRATs crave power so much that they would lie about anything to get a vote.

“The circle—is it closed? And is there really no way out? And is there only one thing left for us to do, to wait without taking action? Maybe something will happen by itself? It will never happen as long as we daily acknowledge, extol, and strengthen—and do not sever ourselves from—the most perceptible of its aspects: Lies.”

I am sure that Johnie is getting a steady diet of cold shoulder and hot tongue!

What a tool. He can’t even tell the truth about movies. Its like Clinton and golf. The guy took 35 foot gimmees and still lied on his score card!

(Thanks Howie Carr for that line)

"Edwards had never seen the movie, Dr. Strangelove."

What a panty-waist - bet he's seen "Beaches" twelve times.

Martha Stewart likes any movie. Except Women in Prison movies. She hates those.
