Court: Lesbians' desires trump doctors' religious rights

A state Supreme Court today ruled that constitutional freedom of religion does not permit doctors to refuse services to homosexual clients, even when those services would violate doctors' moral and religious convictions.

In a unanimous decision, the California State Supreme Court ruled against two Christian doctors at a San Diego area fertility clinic who refused to provide a medical procedure for artificial insemination to a lesbian couple.

According to court documents, the doctors claimed their religious convictions prohibited them from using intrauterine insemination (IUI) on any unmarried woman, regardless of sexual orientation.

The court, however, agreed with the lesbian couple that Dr. Douglas Fenton and Dr. Christine Brody had refused the treatment because of the lesbian couple's homosexuality and ruled that in doing so, the doctors violated California's Unruh Civil Rights Act...

The children, I suppose, are two-bit players in this drama whose welfare is really unimportant.

It's really getting to the point where people are going to have to start "refusing" to abide by a usurping, unconstiutional, anti-freedom court.

A civil war can not come soon enough in these United States.

Can’t wait to see what happens when a muzzie doctor refuses to treat someone based upon religious convictions.

Judges have assumed more and more power, it is up to the people to change that...
ruling on moral and religious values has no place in the court room. The Judges have exceeded their rightful place and become legislators and now tyrants.

Unfortunately, it is much bigger and worse than socialized medicine. It is trampling over an individual's freedom of religion to advance the cause of homosexual rights, which have become paramount. I look for freedom of speech to fall next before the false god of political correctness. When that happens the Republic is done.

Dr. Fenton was my obstetrician and delivered my son back in 1986. I was one of his first patients back then when he was just establishing his private practice. Wonderful man.

Let’s get rid of all of our rights. That’s what these idiots(not just gays)are doing. That’s how they are destroying all of our real values by turning everything we value against us. They take everything to the extreme literaly. It’s quite a game trying to wear us down.

And they are really stupid by even hinting that they are the enlightened ones when they are simply being used. I’ll bet they don’t even realize it.

All doctors should go on strike, and refuse treatment to judges. Let the black-robed bastards die.

A civil war can not come soon enough in these United States.

I'm currently studying to go into the medical field. I figure if I can't use it when medicine becomes socialized, I could always use it to treat the wounded patriots when the crap hits the fan.

So now it has reached the point where judges have found the Constitution guarantees any woman the “right” to demand that doctors place test tube sperm in their vagina?

God help us, the inmates have taken over the asylum. What right does the state have to force doctors to treat anyone for anything? Government has no rights, only powers granted by the people, so why do the people of CA put up with crap like this?

There are no doubt plenty of doctors in CA who would be glad to handle the lesboes "treatment", but they had to prove a point by taking these Christian doctors to court. If I were a doctor in CA I would turn my home over to a realtor this morning and call Mayflower to move my stuff to another state. CA is getting to the point where it barely resembles the rest of the US. Maybe it's time for it to secede from the union like the Confederate States did, only in this case we let it go without a fight.

Personally, there are several states I would encourage to secede. For instance, CA, NJ, and MA among a few others can jump anytime they feel froggy and I wouldn't raise a finger to stop them.

Artificial insemination is not a matter of life and death. No one will die if the Dr.’s refuse to perform the operation. There are enough Doc’s out there who are more than willing to perform the procedure and collect the fee that the women should repsect the Doctors convictions and move along and find someone else.

This case isn’t about whether or not the women have the right to the procedure, it’s about a couple of women forcing their lifestyle choices on someone else and punishing them if they balk.

I would quit practicing medicine before I would do something unethical or that violates my religious conviction. If court ordered to do something against my judgement, I would surrender my license and walk away.

While medicine is the only thing I have done for the past 25 years, I would find another career or move to a different state. The courts are wrong here and I hope it is appealed all the way to the US Supreme, hopefully they will do the right thing.

This is one of the reasons the upcoming election is so important. If we get a confirmed and radical leftist supreme court, you can say goodbye to our civil liberties and lifestyle. Abortion on demand and the radical homosexual agenda will be the law of the land.
