The VP fields on both sides appear to be narrowing. And who is chosen will be far more important than it usually is.
It is all about image, nothing about ability or experience. It will be a woman, or a black...to ‘balance’ the ticket.

No particular reason to think that the VP nominees will be "far more important" than they usually are - unless, of course, the president dies or becomes incapacitated in office.
The significance of VP candidates has been much overrated by media, to the point where there's a nationally televised debate between the two of them. The media uses this (and, to lesser extent, the presidential debates) merely to have a show that gets ratings. So the VP candidates are subject these days to more scrutiny than the job of VP usually warrants. Unless the VP candidate is particularly offensive, he/she has very little to do with the election outcome.
