It sounds like we are going to let S. Ossetia and Abkahzia go to the Russians. I hope I misheard this.

I haven't heard it yet, so take what I say with a box of salt but:

1) The immediate cease fire agreement includes allowing the invaders to police and "peace keep" both enclaves plus 10 clicks beyond.

2) The purpose of the immediate cease fire is to stop the Russians burning towns, destroying infrastructure, raping and murdering the Georgian populace... It isn't working, but it has stopped them short of Tbilisi (so far) which is critical.

3) Supposedly the Russians will have to pull out when "international peace keepers" can be organized and brought in.

4) If Rice did say Russians can keep the enclaves later than that it's in direct contradiction to what President Bush said.

Dealing with the Russians(looking at their undisciplined army) who are nothing in reality but hi-tech mobsters is about as tough as it gets,if any one can manage it it will be Condi Rice.

Georgia; that would be another point where McCain had real knowledge and Obama showed little knowledge. I think Obama has been too busy practicing how not to say “ahhhhh” all the time in normal speaking. He did well sometimes last night, but fell into it several times too.
