Watching FOX - Sen. McCaskill has the gall to speak about supporting the President and the Secretary of State? After the last 8 years of BDS are they finally realizing that it’s hurting the country?

She’s saying that McCain was presumptuous in his statements on Russia. She is saying that McCain worked against the President and Rice by putting forth his press releases.

When the FNS panel was talking about VP choices, a picture of Evan Bayh flashed on the screen. I thought it was John Edwards. Since image is so important to Team Obama, that should rule out Bayh.

Of course, maybe people who would even consider voting for Barack Obama would know the difference between Edwards and the other guy.

Also during the FNS panel, Jill Zuckman made a comment about the timing of the Georgia problem, and how it hurt Obama because he was on vacation. I wonder if she thinks that Obama's response would have been different if he wasn't on vacation; more aggressive, more American, more Presidential?

Obama's vacation is just as meaningless in the long run as his 10-country, 9-day trip that was supposed to eliminate his perceived lack of experience in foreign policy. The vacation doesn't mean anything, but the idea that it can be used as an excuse is scary.

Senator McCain's triumph has been scarcely noted in the Sunday papers.

I was more impressed with his ability to make contact with the audience than his actual answers. Not only did he make his answers forceful and direct but they were from a real person with real views. Not canned, poll driven responses.

By the way I see Senator McCain as a latter day Velveteen Rabbit. He is real because he has experienced life--both ups and downs--both devotion to others and devotion to oneself. He is also real because he is loved by many.

I think I will refer to Senator McCain as my "Velveteen Rabbit" when I think about him. Williams's timeless tale was written in the early 1920's. It lives once again in a political campaign. He looks dilapidated and worn, but that is the way you look when you are real. Every story, after all, is eventually a love story.

On CNN, Obama's spokesperson said Obama would not raise taxes on those making under $250k, THEN he states Obama would tax the profits of oil companies. Another ObamaLie!!! He knows that a huge number of people who make under $250k either have pension, 401k, 403b, or individual retirement stocks in oil companies. In many pension funds and 403b funds, the oil companies are the largest holding. My 403b stock fund has 2% (which is about max. for a fund) invested in ExxonMobil alone.

So for Obama to say he won't increase taxes this group is a certifiable lie. And, it ought to be exposed in a McCain commericial.

Voters need to be urged to check their pension and 401k/403b holdings. Maybe the McCain commerical should list a number of major pension and other retirement funds and LIST THE PERCENTAGE OF THOSE INVESTED IN OIL COMPANIES. Ask voters to check their fund, or provide a site that lists more funds. EXPOSE THE OBAMA LIE!

Well, since you asked...

Let's be proactive. You do such a nice job starting these threads...but if you also posted the email contact links to each of the shows in advance with these threads, then Freepers would have a *convenient* way to email in suggestions for questions to/on the shows prior to their airing.

That would give Free Republic a small role in shaping the agenda of the shows.

Otherwise, Free Republic is left to merely be reactive...yelling at our TV's and computer screens over questions not asked by the idiot talking heads.

I just wasted 15 minutes of my life reviewing this thread for, and removing, personal attacks. These threads are not "protected," and differing viewpoints are welcome here. Now start acting like adults.

Don't make me come back here, or next week, again.
