Laverne, I've gotten real tired of Condi weakening Israel etc., but I loved her today like I used to in the early days! She was strong, rational, and made every point she wanted to and needed to.

I thought Gregory on MTP was going to try to bully her, but maybe he was just trying to sound tough and serious. He did ask one excellent question: what leverage do we have to hold over Russia? I loved her answer (shamelessly paraphrasing): We'll kick 'em out of the 21st century back into poverty, isolation, and stagnation.

In response to the clip with GWB talking about Vlad's soul, she did NOT give Gregory the sound bite he wanted, but said that it was right to give them the chance, the help to be absorbed into the 21st century until they reverted to Soviet thuggery. His voice grew less confrontational as they went along I thought (maybe he started out a little scared of her).

She was also VERY forthright about Russia's LYING. She didn't use the word LIE, but in diplo talk she called him a @#$%^&& LIAR. I loved it!

Actually, I’ve not forgotten about the ‘fool’ element as BO got this far with their vote, plus the vote against Hillary. It’s ironic to me but so true relating to life in America in that it’s all about risk management - personally, professionally, publicly and especially at the government level; cities, counties, states and the United States - including how America deals with other countries. There is a huge risk factor associated with BO as POTUS but as so many American do at every level noted above, ignore risk and go for the look, a style, a method of righting a distant wrong - not considering obvious or unintended consequences of their actions. It’s really mindless celebrity worship as if they can live better through the life of another person.

If one steps back and takes a look at the two candidates, it’s silly to think that the American human race will vote in BO, especially given conditions within our world today. I simply do not understand the liberal mind, never have and probably never will - it’s almost like there are two human races evolving at the same time but not at the same pace.

“As you already know few were happy with that choice but some of us are sworn pubbies and pledged to help Republicans.”

Nothing wrong with that. Some of us are conservatives and only view the GOP as a (more and more frequently) imperfect vehicle for the furtherance of conservatism.

I could NOT disagree with you more.

Nor do I have interest in debating your
obvious negativity and dislike for
President Bush.

Your opinion is apparently intractable,
and IMO lacks perspective and priorities.

I’ll just say my last piece to you on this
subject.

I have so much gratitude for SO many
things in President Bush’s time in office,
not the least of which is that, against all
expectations and informed projections, we
haven’t suffered a terrorist attack on our
soil since 2001, thank God Almighty.

If you don’t think that is because of Pres.
Bush’s actions, you’re dreaming. Maybe you
wouldn’t have minded if your city or any
US town suffered devastating losses from
a vicious jihadist attack ... or your
children or grandchildren had to worry about
going to the mall or a stadium ... not I.

(And, please God, in Your mercy ... let this
safety reign.)

Perfection in any human being? Impossible.
Unless you’re the only One.

Maybe you should consider mustering the
resources and try for the job yourself.

And an Obama victory being caused by anything
President Bush has or has not done?

Ludicrous! Certifiable delusion!

Realizing liberals had a chance to live in a free, conservative, capitalistic society. Had it been the other way around, no one has any choices.

That could be construed by some people, under certain circumstances, as a snide remark.

LATE EDITION (CNN) : Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M.;

“she is going to pledge her delegates to Senator Obama I was a little uneasy till that was worked out”

Let us clarify that to be

“she is going to pledge her delegates”

If that delegate count is fewer than Obama’s, otherwise all bets are off, I’d bet

I just watched it on tape, and agree with you. Gregory became respectful in his later questions, as if seeking real answers. He is probably auditioning for the full-time gig, and decided to play it straight.

Will do thanks.
My kids insisted on going back home on one of those funky spare tires at 40 mph. They are half way to Marathon, they said north bound traffic out of the keys is backed up for miles and miles. They are headed south to Key West.

last night was a shock to me...

For the very first time, I found myself truly liking McCain....

I was not a McCainiac - until last night. That was truly one of the most outstanding interviews I have ever seen a presidential candidate give. If there was a mercy rule in such things, they would've stopped it after the first ten minutes of McCain's talk. He hit homeruns on almost every single question. And what a great contrast with Obama who equivocated on every single question.

Please explain how Bush has only been “blessed” with military victories, whereas the others somehow “earned” them. I am not saying that Bush is a Lincoln or Churchill, but I do think you are really reaching. By the way, Lincoln made some really great speeches, but his hard work, grit, gifted behind-the-scenes political skills, and “stubborness” were just as important, if not more, than his speeches.
