Any bets on which talking head will be the first to say it’s our fault?

CNN has already taken the line that what Russia is doing in Georgia... is no different than what we are doing in Iraq/Afghanistan.

Obama chooses death for Babies vs.”probably crossing the lines in terms of unconstitutionality”,
Much like the anti-war Democrats are silent over Russia targeting civilians.

And if we’re placing a burden on the doctor that says you have to keep alive even a previable child as long as possible and give them as much medical attention as — as is necessary to keep that child alive, then we’re probably crossing the lines in terms of unconstitutionality.

n this week’s Time magazine, TV writer James Poniewozik laments the McCain’s campaign against Barack Obama’s celebrity in an eye-popping way: he says it’s “almost unpatriotic,” and that in denigrating America’s celebrity culture, McCain’s like “al-Qaeda and the French.” Here’s the graf:

Why, after all, is celebrity an insult? Personal magnetism, the ability to galvanize attention and rally masses: this is a bad quality in a Chief Executive? J.F.K. and Ronald Reagan managed to soldier on with this handicap. Besides, celebrity is America’s chief international export. There’s something almost unpatriotic about denigrating it; it’s like insulting Obama by comparing him to a GMC truck. (You know who complains about American celebrity culture? Al-Qaeda and the French, that’s who!)

I count at least eleven VP possibilities, I hope we get reports on all of them!

Also I’m in Florida, keeping my eye on Fay, due to hit me in the middle of the week.

Everytime I hear again how Obama blocked that bill to provide medical care to babies that survive abortions...I get that much more disgusted and sick.

In a recent interview with USA Olympics basketball team member Kobe Bryant, NBC Sports reporter Chris Collinsworth seemed to question Kobe’s patriotism when the player said that he was proud to wear the team USA uniform. Wondering if it was “cool” to be proud of being on Team USA, Collinsworth seemed to surprise even Bryant with the temerity of the question. Why Collinsworth wouldn’t think it would be “cool” to be proud of being on the American Olympic basketball team is anyone’s guess.

I almost forget about CNN on issues like this...they’ve been in the tank so long for every COmmunist despot in the world it’s hard to remember they are a U.S. “news” organization.

Obama uses the verbiage that gives Democrats an out for being pro-abortion. “The health of the mother” is Democrat speak to mean any reason the mother can come up with, and get any doctor to agree to, is reason enough to abort. The health of the mother has always been the Democrats escape clause they insist on for these bills.

I really appreciate your efforts!

I'd like to second that ....
I finally have everyone in the family leaving me alone
until church, and then once we get home, I'm to be left alone.

I thank you all for making this a great Sunday ritual.

The Audacity of Nope
Obama’s oil policy.

http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MDYzZmRhODdhNGVmZGUyNWNhZDM3NDEwNWMxODg1MjY

Since 1981, Congressional appropriations amendments effectively have barred Interior from financing or permitting survey expeditions — particularly and precisely in the 85 percent of the Outer Continental Shelf where oil production and exploration are verboten.

In 2005, Congress mandated new, quintennial inventories, then gave Interior six months and $0.00 to assess how much oil and natural gas undergird the 1.76 billion-acre Outer Continental Shelf — a laughably impossible task.

“They couldn’t even board a research vessel,” explains a congressional staffer who studies these issues. Interior’s “paper inventory,” the aide adds, “examined Canadian and West African coastal data, imagined where those sediments pooled before the Continental Drift, then extrapolated to guesstimate what’s off our Atlantic coast today.”

The resulting document states: “Resource estimates are highly dependent on the current knowledge base, which has not been updated in 20 to 40 years for areas under congressional moratorium. . . . ” Translation: “We have no idea what’s really out there.”

Obama’s “Oil SENSE Act” would repeal the 2005 Energy Policy Act’s authorization of these inventories. Introduced in January 2007, S.115 would leave decision makers with Carter Administration maps drawn with pre-PC technology.

Obama's 2d to pinpoint America’s offshore oil deposits;

Federal officials currently employ estimates based primarily on two-dimensional,
black-and-white maps that oil-industry surveyors produced in the 1970s and furnished to the Interior Department.

Obama’s bill would prohibit expanded use of 3-D,
color seismic techniques that locate and measure underwater oil deposits

Naturally, it’s hard for Big Oil to generate more petroleum when it cannot open new refineries, develop the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge, broaden offshore production, nor even modernize its underwater maps. This is like screaming at Mom because dinner is late — while blocking the kitchen door.

Screaming faces is a term Lazamataz made up about 9 years ago for the Sunday guests. It was back when Carville, Begela, and that crowd were on constantly shouting and yelling during the Clinton Lewinsky affair and perjury impeachment. It was funny then, and I’ve kept it as a tribute to those days, when Free Republic and this thread were new.

Now there never is a web source for the Sunday show guest lists, as they come from various sources (my local newspaper prints them on Saturday, if I don’t get the newspaper I’ll search the various network sites). About 8 years ago or so, John Rob changed the format so you had to post a web url source. So I made one up. There really is no www.sundayscreamingfaces.com. Maybe someday I’ll register that!

Here’s Obama’s caveman mentality for drilling page 2 link;

http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MDYzZmRhODdhNGVmZGUyNWNhZDM3NDEwNWMxODg1MjY=&w=MQ==

Contemporary 4-D surveying adds the dimension of time. Satellites help find and quantify subsea deposits, track their flows, and predict their next steps. Some 70 percent of 4-D wells hit oil.

Obama’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Drill policy spurns these marvels and embraces outdated information gathered with obsolete instruments. This is the audacity of ignorance.

Adults should not make decisions in willful obliviousness. Democrats like Obama prefer not to know what riches rest off America’s coasts — since, from their perspective, only bad things can arise politically from finding good things scientifically. They resemble kindergartners who cover their ears and hum loudly to muffle their parents’ unwelcome words.

Meanwhile, Americans struggle to fuel planes, trains, and automobiles. Despite this national nightmare, Congressional Democrats fled on a five-week summer vacation, rather than vote on Republican amendments to extend offshore drilling. Democrats chose suntan oil over oil production.

Last nights CNN interview already implying things that aren’t supported, Brody should be fired if he can’t support ‘antichrist’ in “ads that John McCain has been running not just on television, but on the web. “;

http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/429313.aspx

Brody: Let me ask you a little about some of these ads that John McCain has been running not just on television, but on the web. Let’s face it, let’s call a spade a spade, there has been some Messianic references, there’s been some antichrist stuff going on,
