You realize that there are still some old Dutch churches left. Many descendants of Dutch colonists were farming in southern Brooklyn through the 1940s:

Yes, I do. My ancestors moved over to New Jersey after a few generations in Brooklyn. There is a genealogical society, The Holland Society of New York, whose goal is to perpetuate knowledge of the influence of the Dutch in the New World. They have a good Library, located in Manhattan.
