What if there is a different father’s name on the birth certificate or in the case of this situation, no fathers name listed at all on the document?

I believe that in most states the father’s name can only be put on the birth cert. of an unmarried mom if said father signs an acknowledgment of paternity (or a subsequent paternity test proves he is the father).
