For many on the left, WE are the aggresors in Georgia

Where you stand on Georgia says a lot.

By Christopher Cook

First, consider the presidential candidates.

McCain has taken a strong stand against Russia's crushing of a sovereign nation. Obama, not so much.

Of course, as is to be expected, America turns to Republicans whenever they notice anything serious going on in the world, and that can be seen in the poll numbers: people by far prefer McCain on the Georgia matter.

Then we have the left vs. the right.

People on the right, generally, believe that a free nation and a free people should not be attacked and annexed by a larger, near-autocratic bully neighbor. The right looks at the recent gains in democracy and freedom in Georgia and supports their wish to be independent of Putin's new Soviet empire.

The left, on the other hand, reads the words "larger near-autocratic bully neighbor" and no matter what, no matter where the conflict is, they hear "United States." They analogize the situation to Iraq . . . or Vietnam . . . or . . . the Spanish-American War...*

The leftists are for death of the right kinds.

They seemed to approve of the hundreds of thousands in mass graves by Saddam in Iraq.

They don’t seem to care if Jews get blown up.

They care about terrorists in Cuba having luxury living and call all our military baby killers.

Screw them all (leftest) to a very hot place. That is all I can say about such loathsome people.

"Almost definitionally, they are incapable of anything other than opposition to their own country. "

That pretty much says it all to me. Good article. Thanks for posting it.

Mod, Can we fix the title spelling? I realize that's the way it was on MC, and certainly not the fault of the poster, but it's annoying. I hate seeing bad spelling on FR.

I was flipping through channels on Monday and I stumbled onto some Olberman or Oberman character and basically asked to what extend can we blame the Bush administration?

How on earth can they reach that conclusion?

blaming Georgia for the russian invasion is like blaming the rape victim.

What else is new. The left ALWAYS blames the US for any negative event that happens in the world.

And notice also that they have ZERO regard for the wishes of Georgia. In their minds, the US should just butt out of Russia’s affairs. Never mind that Georgia is a sovereign country with the right to ally with any nation it pleases.

Leftists need to STFU now. Keep out of this one.

They want to pick the wrong side to be on if the SHTF and they will be “on the wrong side when the SHTF”.

Simple as that.

“Russia’s crushing of a sovereign nation.”

There’s got to be a better way of putting this. When I talk to people about the subject all I hear is “Oh so invading sovereign nations that did nothing to you is a BAD THING NOW?”

It has been a political conspiracy for more that a year now. Blame Bush for everything conceivable, no matter what it is. Some Americans will always believe it. These are the “useful idiots” that you hear about.

I don’t understand how we could possibly be aggressors over there. We’re not even fighting (yet).

I’m sure our soldiers over there will prepare to fight if they must.

Reply with "So now bombing Kosovo and killing a bunch of innocents would be bad now? Funny, all you liberals were for it at the time. Funny how it came at the exact time Clinton was being impeached. What coincedence that was, huh?"

What “A CA Guy” said. Agree 100%. Also glad you posted it, because if I posted what I really think about leftists, I’d probably get banned...
