One of the challenges of the week for Chicago is finding a way to control the news cycle without the candidate. Today's answer: "Republicans for Obama."
The most surprising name out there so far is probably that of former Iowa Rep. Jim Leach, a prominent figure in a battleground state.
Also, former Sen. Linc Chafee, and Douglas Kmiec.
There's still room for some higher-profile, more current figures -- an apostate of the profile of Joe Lieberman. The leading candidate for that slot still seems to be Chuck Hagel.
If Hagel endorses Obama it will show what a dirtbag be really is. A closer look at Hagel’s record will show he is generally conservative, as much as he is bashed by the right. I can check his ACU rating but I think it has been fairly high during his Senate career. He is pro life and has voted for most of GWB’s judicial nominees. So for him to renounce all this and go with Obama because he is peeved with Bush, or McCain, or the GOP, will show he is a total sellout with no principles whatever.
Seems that any “Republican” who publicly supports Obama (or any Democrat candidate for anything) should be drummed out of the party.
But I guess that is about as likely to happen as the Catholic Church actually denying abortion-supporting politicians communion or more...
Lincoln, Chafee are obviously obsessed with guilt over something they said, did, or believed in the past.
Why else would they be so willing to pay ‘penance’ by endorsing this cretin of a Democratic candidate, Obama.
Yes, lets get their names out there so they can be voted out of office.
Actually Rice said no such thing. When asked if America would be safe under a president Obama she replied “America will be fine” That is hardly an endorsement. When asked about being a possible VP for Obama she said “Look. I’m a Republican...”
You are mistaking diplomacy for an endorsement.
“Rep. Jim Leach, Lincoln Chafee and Douglas Kmiec.”
Once a loser, always a loser. And we wonder why the Republican Party is in such bad shape. Its former office holders are actually Democrats.
The only good news being that they are FORMER office-holders.
PS - I like the tag-line. Maybe congress will take care of this problem for us...

How much longer for Light-loafers Lindsay?
WHAT??? Liberace was GAY????
But he was so loved by all those women!
;o)
America would be safe with ousbama said RICE?
And that is supposed to be diplomacy when the campaign is going on!
There is NO DIPLOMACY during an electoral campaign...This is rather SUBMISSION
One time proud member of the RMSP (until he and a few others got culled out of the herd in 2006) alongside a number of other Republicans including McCain who is still listed on their web site under elected members.

Wonder what the ‘’Club for Growth’’ will have to say,, and do. ;-)
For me, any thought of his being a "deep thinker" was completely eliminated after the 2000 Presidential Election when he called for abolishing the Electoral College.
His endorsement of the ultra-liberal, empty suit Obama is just confirming what I already knew: Leach is an idiot masquerading as an intellectual.
That is not what she said. The quote was "America will be fine" She did not say it would be fine with Obama as president. In fact she never mentioned his name. It was as if her meaning was America will be fine because Obama won't be president.
RINOs backstabbing a RINO.
