“It depends on the bishop” ( Pelosi says she's never been denied Holy Communion )
California Catholic Daily ^ | August 7, 2008 | staff

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, whose longtime support for homosexual rights and abortion has made her the darling of groups like Planned Parenthood, NARAL and the Human Rights Campaign, has once again made it a point to describe herself as “Catholic.”

In a Sunday, Aug. 3, interview about her recently published book Know Your Power: A Message to America's Daughters for the C-SPAN network’s “Q&A” program, host Brian Lamb asked Pelosi, “The one word I read several times in your book is the word ‘faith.’ And you wrote, ‘Growing up Catholic had an enormous impact on me -- greater, I am certain, than growing up in a political family.’ Why?”

Pelosi responded, “Well, I think it’s self-evident, I mean, I make that statement because everybody knows that I grew up in a political family. But faith was a very – is and has been a very important part of my family life growing up and now. And it informs my decision-making, my value system and my sense of responsibility to the community. And it is a joy in my life.”

“Where did you get the faith?” asked Lamb.

“From my parents and from the nuns in school,” Pelosi replied. “I went to Catholic school throughout my whole academic life. In fact my children – my husband and I and our children in my own family now have over 100 years of Catholic education among us. But in my case growing up lived in a very Catholic neighborhood, an Italian-American neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland.”

I have come to the conclusion that America’s favorite “Little Italian Grandma”, is demon possessed. She should undergo exorcism.

Thank you for posting the article.

Wonder if Nancy meant there wasn’t a priest ‘alive’ that had refused her communion?

The Catholic Church is huge, and contrary to popular paranoia and myth, the hierarchy isn’t as unified nor does it micromanage the affairs of all of its members.

The rules are more or less enforced on the honor system, particularly with the rank and file.

Stop pretending,Nan.You’re a Unitarian/Universalist...*not* a Catholic. It’s surprising that you don’t admit it.Given that a huge majority of voters in your district...and in your Party...are atheists you’d be celebrated if you came out the atheism “closet”.

“Where did you get the faith?” asked Lamb.

“From my parents and from the nuns in school,” Pelosi replied.

I never knew you got faith from others. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing of the Word of God. In other words, faith comes from God. Not the Nuns, or the parents.

...nor does it micromanage the affairs of all of its members.

But if there's ever a case to be made for "micromanaging" it's with someone like Nan...or Teddy K....or John F'ing Kerry.Their Bishop could publicly announce "recant, repent and change your attitude or don't even bother coming to the Communion rail in my Diocese...or in any other".

Faith is a gift, but you have to hear about the Faith someplace first.

I’d say Pelosi’s real faith, however, is the Democratic Party platform of the moment.

Some bishop has got to call her on this. But it’s not going to be Bishop Wussy Wuerl, and it’s not going to be Bishop Nerdly Neiderauer.

Her graciosness gets away with it because the MSM wont confront her with the real issues. Nancy Bellagosi is a vaccuous, streched faced, idiot that only got attention this last week or so because of the recent stunt she pulled. NO MSM OUTLET IS CALLING HER OUT ON THIS. She is the worst speaker, period.
I could go on but...

“How do they get away with it?”

I'm no expert on who the Body of Christ enters upon reception of Holy Communion BUT just because someone receives the Holy Communion Host doesn't necesaarily mean that the Body of Christ enters the body of those who are in the state of Mortal sin...but again, I'm not privy to what our Lord, Jesus Christ does.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, whose longtime support for homosexual rights and abortion

Next weekend in D.C., a group from A Cry Without A Voice' well be there to 'speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves' (Proverbs 31:8-9). They will be placing baby shoes on the mall to represent those children who have been aborted. Some of the pairs of shoes have been tagged with the names of the babies "by the women, men and siblings in memory of their family members lost to abortions."

Nancy won't be there. She knows her power and is using it to kill our economy and to kill our childern. America's Jezebel can just stay in California. I'm sure her Bishop won't mind.

If the Catholic church wasn't so concerned about losing $, they would excommunicate anyone who supports abortion.

*** “So there’s some areas where we’re in agreement and some areas where we’re not,...***

Nancy, you’re a Catholic or you’re not. It isn’t a club you can join and then try to change the rules. And daily you break one major rule of the Catholic church when you vote to murder innocent babies.

A case could certainly be made for banning Pelosi, Kerry and Kennedy, and any number of others for that matter.

But that would open the floodgates for folks to call in with still more to be barred, and bishops having to consider all of these cases.

I ain’t saying its right, but I can’t blame the bishops too much for relying on the honor system to avoid trials and appeals and other ecclestiastical red tape.
