Mainstream media finally pounce on Edwards' affair
'It's good to see public acknowledgment that our story was accurate all along,' says the National Enquirer's editor. But what took so long?

NEW YORK -- The mainstream media's near-silence about a tabloid report that former presidential candidate John Edwards had an extramarital affair with a campaign worker ended abruptly Friday when he admitted the relationship to ABC News.

**SNIP**

The Enquirer first published a story in October about a relationship between Edwards and a campaign worker, quoting unnamed sources. Edwards denounced the report as "completely untrue" and "ridiculous."

**SNIP**

David Perel, editor of the Enquirer, said he felt vindicated.

"It's good to see public acknowledgment that our story was accurate all along," he said.

**SNIP**

"Probably the biggest question about this whole mess is why the mainstream media protected Edwards by ignoring the story for the past 8 months," read one typical comment on ABC News' website.

**SNIP**

Sam Feist, CNN's political director, said reporters for the cable network had been trying to nail down the allegations since last fall and had been in California and North Carolina in recent weeks working on the story.

**SNIP**

"In a story like this, these are significant allegations," he said. "I think it's entirely appropriate for a news organization to wait to report a story until they have information that they're comfortable with reporting."

The Los Angeles Times was unable to confirm the details in the Enquirer reports, said Craig Turner, an editor who oversees front-page stories for the paper.

A few news organizations did follow the Enquirer's reporting, including Fox News...

North Carolina TV stations are trying to look at the bright side of the affair. There isn't one - Edwards is a total slug - but at least he wasn't tapping his toe in some men's room. (Didn't the drive-by media get MONTHS of coverage on that one?)

Keep in mind - this writer is from the LA Times which BANNED any conversation about the perp - and his concubine.

Have they bothered to mention the obviously illegal tax fraud and campaign fraud scheme to make pay offs to keep this dirty little affair a secret?

The guy is a “PR” wearing a suit. He says precisely what you want to hear, with no substance in his speech he makes. He might make for a decent lawyer, but beyond that....the guy has no talent at anything....and the visit to the hotel in LA...was the act of a dimwit, with no expectation that someone was going to follow him or expect to photograph him.

THIS was the story the LAT had many months ago about a “sitting senator” when they were in all sorts of moral turmoil about their “journalistic responsibilities”.

Caught a CNN segment on the scandal today. It was essentially a tribute to the strength of both Elizabeth and John in facing so many challenges and traumas through the years:

the death of their son, Elizabeth’s cancer, and now this...

From the tone of the piece, you would assume that John had been abducted, chained down, and FORCED to have an affair.

But don’t worry. CNN reassures us that John and Elizabeth will overcome this trial too, with the strength and courage they have always shown.

Everything about the Democratic party for many years now is all about style over substance.
If you look pretty and can talk well, we’ll make you a senator or prep you for a run at the whitehouse.

All of them are empty suits and ancient hippie dinosaurs from the 1970’s.

As usual, the MSM believes its their job to “shape” and “sensationalize” the news for the greatest impact, ratings, and promote their personal political agendas.

It’s not about reporting a story in an unbiased matter, its about taking a story and turning into a Cecil B. DeMille production.

Senator Craig’s wife was not dying and he wasn’t bringing new children into the world. He also wasn’t using illegal monies to pay for his transgressions. And he was keeping America beautiful by cleaning up papers in one toilet stall after another. He was not wasting his time in bathrooms calling security. He got right down to business.

"John Edwards had an extramarital affair with a campaign worker"

The story is NOT that he had an affair with a campaign worker. The story is that he paid his bimbo lover for a non job in his campaign. None in the DBM has reported this angle.

At least CNN has admitted the ‘affair’, but the old guard like the NYT(NewYork Slimes) is still in full fledged, head in sand denial. Search the NYT’s achieves for “Reille Hunter” and get ZERO hits. Try the same using “Vicki Iseman” whom the NYT fabricated a McCain affair with during the Primary season - I got 690 hits.

The “highminded” pretenses of these propaganda rags only makes them even more revolting.
