Montenegro: Ethnic Albanians (Including 4 American Citizens) jailed for alleged plot

Podgorica, 5 August (AKI) - A court in the small Balkan country of Montenegro on Tuesday convicted 12 ethnic Albanians, including four US citizens, of plotting a rebellion when the republic became independent of Serbia in 2006.

Judge Ivica Stankovic also convicted five other members of the group from Montenegro's Albanian minority of possessing illegal weapons.

He sentenced the 17 defendants to prison terms ranging from three months to six and a half years for planning a rebellion and the Americans received some of the toughest sentences.

The ethnic Albanians were arrested on terrorism charges in September 2006, but the charges were later modified.

Authorities claimed they were planning attacks with a view to creating an autonomous region.

Ethnic Albanians comprise about six percent of Montenegro’s total population of 620,000 and are concentrated in several areas bordering Albania.

Twelve ethnic Albanians were sentenced to a total of 48 years in prison, ranging from terms of three to six years each, while several others were given lighter sentences.

All members of the group had pleaded not guilty to the charges and said they would appeal Tuesday's verdict.

Department of State probably does not share your view. They have not met Islamofascist terrorist they did not like. I expect that DoS will armtwist Montenegro to release poor innocent Albanians who only practiced their national pastime.

The "US citizen sponsoring revolt in the Balkans" worked pretty well for the Albanians the first time in Kosovo -- ala the Brooklyn Connection They just thought that they would try a repeat performance, this time in Montenegro.

So far, it looks like that strategy may not have worked out so well in Montenegro!

Babe, I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that once again you post an article unfavorable to Albania, Albanians, and indeed the entire Holy Concept:

GREATER ALBANIA

The negative (and need I add insensitive) comments you have been posting may well cause a slowdown in the key sectors of the Albanian economy. In particular the international brothel industry, white slavery in general, even the traffic in stolen cars and stolen car parts doesn't look as good as it should. Thank Allah for Opium, because Heroin sales at least, are holding steady.

Babe, when it comes to Albania amd Albanians, try and accentuate the positive instead of allatime harping on the pillaging of Orthodox Monasteries, the rape and murder of Christians, Gypsies, and any non-Albanians we can catch, stealing cars, dealing dope, extortion, racketeering, etc.

Just FYI, these Montenegrins have been cruising for a bruising from us for a long time. The nerve of these Orthodox Christian devils-- occupying lands that are a part of the GREATER ALBANIA, just like Toledo, Ohio, or Buenos Aires.

Remember, Babe, Bill Clinton, Madeleine Albright, and that great American, Richard Holbrooke, made us quaint and colorful folks your allies ... and buddies in the Balkans!

"Babe, I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that once again you post an article unfavorable to Albania, Albanians, and indeed the entire Holy Concept:"

Let me tell you a little secret Kenny:

My first love was actually an Orthodox Christian American, who by blood was one half Serb, one quarter Croat, one quarter Albanian -- with an Albanian last name. I came within a hair's breath of marrying him. If I had, I'd be sitting here arguing the same point of view as I am now, while sporting an Albanian last name. Now wouldn't that be interesting?
