The Christians in ARMM (Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao) are primarily descendants of immigrants from Luzon. The massive immigration was brought about by a very successful pacification campaign by a hitherto unknown U.S. Army Captain in 1903.

I hate to use the tired liberal cliche, but this is one time when we can learn from third world cultures. And that one would be the Christians in Nigeria and also the Hindus of Gujarat, in forming armed resistance to Islam. That goes for here, too.
