House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday maintained a hard-line stance against offshore drilling and said GOP efforts on the floor to push her toward a vote was “war dance of the hand maidens of the oil companies.”
Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she would play no part in helping a measure “that won’t work and mislead the American people as to thinking it’s going to reduce the price at the pump.”

The economy has tanked ever since she became Speaker in January 07.

Pelosi, it wil be remembered, became Speaker of the House in January, 2007.
It will also be remembered that the price of gasoline in January, 2007, was around $2.37 per gallon.
Pelosi appears unwilling to do anything that might work or might reduce the price of gasoline.
Apparently she didn’t get the memo from the Obama camp that he had changed positions. Now she is on record as against what her party’s nominee wants! Nancy’s “let them eat cake” stance is not going to win her many seats come November!
We have the soundclips and quotes for the focus villains, just like the Demons used GWB in 2006. THe RNC if it had a pair would take these facts and hammer them home.
Has she asked any experts on the effect of using the Petroleum reserves? I think not — they all say it would be a VERY SHORT TERM FIX.
She is a totally incompetent granny who should be confined to a rocking chair.

By Pelosi and the Democratic pary over taxing businesses and companies, the net result will be more and more companies moving their operations overseas to Asia. If there is such as thing as tax shelters as there is such a thing, one has to ask how much more with corporations take before enough is enough.

Newt is saying the same thing, but he wants to do it to also punish the speculators. My fear would be, we deplete the Strategic Reserves, and then the Nigerian rebels blow up more pipelines, the iranians rattle some more swords, and hugo does something. All of them seeing our weakness! Oil would pole vault to a much higher price, and we’d have no reserves and have to pay through the nose to fill them up again.
