Other than John McCain and Barack Obama, no U.S. politician is riding higher than Nancy Pelosi.
The speaker leads the most unified party in the recent history of the House of Representatives. She might add at least a dozen, and probably more, members to her 37-seat margin this November. She played an important, if subtle, role in facilitating Obama's nomination.
Pelosi is the toast of television talk shows as she peddles her new book, "Know Your Power." She even held her own on Jon Stewart's satirical comedy program, "The Daily Show."
Just last week, the Republican candidate, McCain, pointedly praised her as "an inspiration to millions of Americans" and vowed, if elected, to work closely with her.

BARF ALERT!!
I guess it would be pointless to point out to Al ‘Kneepads’ Hunt that, under Pelosi’s ‘leadership’, Congress has an approval rating in the single digits.
She’s definitely riding high... The only question is - What is she smoking?
She left town in a hurry on a five-week paid vacation so she can promote her book.
I haven’t been this proud of the Republicans in the House since they impeached Bill Clinton.
“The speaker leads the most unified party in the recent history of the House of Representatives.”
And the lowest approval rating in recorded history.
Dem party most undivided? Then why can Hussein Obama break 50% support?
The Democrat party, like the Republican party, is a rickety old flivver held together by carefully concealed bailing wire.
why can = why can’t
Together they will fall.
She didn't want to play second fiddle to Hillary. By backing Obama; no matter who is elected President, she will remain the most powerful woman in America.
Given the “Kitchen Table” issues, price of gas, and the dismal approval rating, how can there be MORE support for the democrat leadership?
Based on history, how does the populace NOT associate the leadership with the problems of the country? So much that they appear willing to give them more power? Do they really think the President is a King, and blame him for everything?
I understand the support of the “One”, but that is more romance than anything. I don’t understand how a 9-14% approval rating translates to a positive for Pelosi/Reid.
They were great, weren’t they?
What troubles me is this:
>McCain, pointedly praised her as “an inspiration to millions of Americans” and vowed, if elected, to work closely with her.<
Who the hell is this guy kidding? Congress has hit an all-time low approval rating and Pelosi is hated not only by Republicans but I’ve heard from more than a few Dems who aren’t too happy with her, either.
Worst House Speaker ever? Probably.
This is probably the first in a series of articles aimed at damage control.
Didn’t Pelosi and Rats scold Bush for taking vacations?, That BTCH!
Al Hunt... rhymes with...
al hunt needs an enema.
LOL. The only notable thing pelosi has achieved is giving Congress the worst public-opinion ratings that have ever been recorded.
