Rep. Edward Markey, chair of the Global Warming Committee recently told students gathered at the U.S. Capitol that climate change caused Hurricane Katrina. “There now is no question that this harm is being caused by human activity,” said Markey. “It’s warming up the planet and melting the glaciers. There is an underwater heat wave going on that intensifies the storms and creates even greater havoc when those storms reach land. The planet is running a fever.”
Markey was not aware the globe and its oceans were cooling. Global temperatures stopped warming in 1998 and since 2002 have been declining. NASA’s JPL reported their 3000 global ARGO diving buoys deployed in 2003 have shown the world’s oceans have too cooled.
This cooling has occurred even as CO2 increased 3.5%. A similar decoupling took place from the 1940s to the late 1970s when temperatures fell as CO2 accelerated upwards intothe post-war boom years. This on-again, off-again correlation suggests CO2 is not the primary climate driver.

I remember being 18 and having Bart Stupak lie to my face about voting for THE balanced budget amentment. He claimed to have voted for it but, in fact, voted for a phony amendment that required only a majority vote to overturn.

Ever since Bush took office, US CO2 emissions have lowered - while European emissions increased, and world temperatures have declined.
But you won’t hear the media say that.
To radical environmentalists, AGW is fact because they say it's fact. All other evidence is irrelevant. Free Speech is irrelevant. Capitalism is irrelevant. Democracy/Republicanism is irrelevant. These people are fascists and they see us as the enemy that must be crushed.

That will ultimately be its demise. Corporate America has grabbed a hold of it to sell everything. The wife and I were just laughing at a Home Depot commercial that asked us to buy a new "green" refrigerator so we could both reduce our "carbon footprint" and feel damn good about ourselves for doing so. Global Warming has become a fad, something to be worn on your shirt like a silly half-twisted colored ribbon ("We're trying to raise awareness for ____________________________________"[insert cause du jour]). It'll be discarded as soon as the next poser movement comes around.

As global cooling becomes more evident, you can count on the globull warming alarmists to ratchet up their rhetoric because they see their opportunity to force socialism on us slipping away. But don’t worry, once the cooling does become evident, you can count on them to become globull cooling alarmists and WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE if we don’t embrace socialism.
