"Rep Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) just pretended to be a Democrat. He stood on the other side of the chamber and listed all of the GOP bills that the Dems killed.

He then said "I am a Democrat and here is my energy plan" and he held up a picture of an old VW Bug with a sail attached to it. He paraded around the house floor with the sign while the crowd cheered.

"This is the people's House," Rep, Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) said. "This is not Pelosi's politiburo."

Democratic aides were furious at the GOP stunt, and reporters were kicked out of the Speaker's Lobby, the space next to the House floor where they normally interview lawmakers.

"You're not covering this, are you?" complaing one senior Democratic aide. Another called the Republicans "morons" for staying on the floor."

All you FReepers who missed the live thread yesterday on this event missed some history. Who do you think pushed Fox news to go there, FReepers did. No news agency was aware of this event until FReepers phoned them. Someone had the numbers for almost every telephone in Fox and CNN. They were quite startled and wanted to know how we got the numbers. The staff members of the republicans on the floor, the staff of the leader and the whip all were energized by our calls and wanted to know how we found out about the event. The answer of course was FreeRepublic.com. I belive it was 2,793 comments the last time I looked. I have the link to the live thread if anyone wants it.

If anyone has a MySpace, Facebook or Twitter account, talk to your reps. I found Candace Miller, my rep here in MI has a Facebook. I wrote her there asking her to keep it up.

Hoekstra has a MySpace. I thanked him there. He stated that the only reason they got the word out was because of “new technology”. His blackberry and Twitter.

Everyone calling reps offices during the event, including myself, told them that we were watching on FR. ConservativeMan55 even got us a “FR Shout out” on Sean Hannity.

It was a blast to be there and I hope we can do it again on Monday!!!
