On Saturday morning just before 9am, KCMO police were called to the Bank of America, 8320 North Oak Trafficway, in regard to a shooting. Upon arrival officer's located a black male (approx. 20yrs old) in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. It appears he was attempting to rob two victim's at gunpoint near the ATM when one of the victim's brandished a handgun and shot him in self defense. Both victim's along with several witnesses are being interviewed in regard. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call the TIPS Hotline.

It sounds to me that the perp was doing the brandishing. The citizen used his weapon in the manner it was meant to be used.
Not a very well written article but a lovely ending anyway!
His court appionted defense lawyer is going tosue for lose of income.

Hum, interesting approach to witting this article.
I might have gone with something like; “the scum bag attempted to rob to citizens that initially appeared to be unarmed victims, however, upon getting shot in the head, the scum bag realized that one of the citizens was armed...and was capable of defending himself against the armed scum bag...justice was delivered. More details to follow.

I had to add my 2 cents worth, and I guarantee someone will be ... “OFFENDED”! This is my comment as posted to the original site.
One thing unclear in this story ... was this a Walkup or Drivethru ATM? Concealed Carry is varied per jurisdiction, while carrying in Car is permitted.
If it was a Drivethru ATM... I’d get out of the car to fight back. Recoil concussion inside a vehicle is deafening. If it was a walkup, he’d have to go back to the car to get the weapon.
EITHER WAY, Mr. Robber GOT WHAT HE DESERVED, and I hope Mr. Victim got his money back, and whatever else Mr. Robber had in his pockets! Bring credence to the adage.. “Crime does not PAY.”
The only CRIME here(other than the robbery) is that Mr. Robber is still wasting our Valuable AIR, and has not yet begun his journey to HELL.

In a situation like this I’d like to see a note stapled to the guy saying “He tried to rob me, he pulled a weapon, I shot him, I left to avoid persecution. Long live Charles Bronson!”
“Victim’s?” Twice they put apostrophes where one was not needed. So much for editing.
Glad to hear another scumbag was taken down during commission of a violent crime. Now maybe he will think twice before doing it again. Though he still is alive so I guess it is unlikely he will turn away from a life of crime.
