Don't take this personally. I'm in a bad mood and I need to vent. I am sick of hearing about pressuring DemocRATS to allow a vote on drilling.

I would much rather hear Republicans argue that they will schedule a vote if people will vote them back into power in November.

If they have a vote before the elections, it will take the issue off the table and then what will they have to run on?

Here’s an idea we LOCK THEM IN UNTIL THEY ALLOW US TO DRILL. They don’t get a 100k a year salary plus benifits to play at work for a few weeks and then take a summer vacation.

You're Welcome -

After you sign the drilling petition at Americansolutions.com, they'll send an email offering bumper stickers.

“I would much rather hear Republicans argue that they will schedule a vote if people will vote them back into power in November.”

But who, at this stage, would believe them?

Gummint is bigger now than when Dubya took office. The pubs pretty much ain’t done nuthin’ I wanted them to do.

Point will taken. There seems to be no shortage of people who believe Barry will actually lower the water level of the seas so there must be more than just a few who will believe Republicans will follow through on their promise.

Thanks for harshing my mellow.

Many in Congress blame speculation on oil prices rising so quickly
Many in Congress say drilling will not lower oil prices.

WRONG!

Nothing spooks a speculator than the simple risk that the monoply they are betting on will become a commodity.

Announcing if only the intent to explore in the USA will spook the markets down.

We need to remember how just two weeks ago, when Bush lifted his daddy's ban, prices began to drop immediately.

I believe that if Congress is allowed to break without voting, prices will immediately rise at least back to where they were, maybe higher. The need for a message that we will utilize our own resources to retain our strength and independence is urgent.

Even better President Bush should call Congress back for a special session on the topic in late September/early October when they would rather be campaigning back in their districts.

I agree, I am hoping the price stays higher than hades until November with the Libs doing nothing about it and the whole thing backfire in their face on election day when the electorate is fed up to their eyeballs with the high oil prices.

Be better to petition Bush to call for a special session after Congress has had about a week back home to hear from the folks.

If Bush would do this one thing before the end of his term, he could help America improve her energy stance and help McCain with a great comeback win.
