“The central fact of the case is it’s a 43-foot-tall cross,” said David Blair-Loy, legal director of the local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. “There’s nothing more religious than a cross.”

Wrong. The cross is a symbol, a sacred symbol of the Christian faith but there is so much more to Christianity than the displaying of the cross. People’s lives are guided by Christ, including those in gov’t. Many make their decisions guided by faith. What will you do then, Mr. Blair-Loy? Sue someone in gov’t because they use their faith to help them make decisions at their job?

The ACLU is so stupidly annoyed by the tangible that they miss the much bigger picture. Christianity and religion are more, MUCH more, than the crosses we erect. It’s pervasive and entrenched in people’s hearts. Try suing that.

Yes, the Cross is bigger than our nation, or any nation. Christianity is bigger than both. We are one nation, under God, and God establishes nations. God also sent His Son to suffer and die for the sins of the world, and that made Him, Jesus Christ our Saviour, and those that believe that are called Christians.
Our government does not establish the Church, nor does it establish a faith. Our faith, Christianity,, establishes the state.
When the Church is gone, and all Christians are gone there will be no nation.

I have been in a number of discussion with leftists who have held that a government employee should not base any decision they make on their faith, even if that decision is one of personal judgement and not the law.
