I went to buy a flat iron at Macy's - The $50 one was made in China and was on sale for $24.95. The next one up was made in Germany and priced at $100. I didn't see anything made in the USA. So I bought the Chinese one, as I can't afford $100 to iron clothes.

yea well let me know how long the “MADE IN CHINA” iron lasts before you have to replace it...

Like my father used to say “buy cheap; get cheap”

BTW, ORECK makes a cordless iron MADE IN USA
true it’s $130 but you’ll probably only have to buy one in your lifetime.LOL

And if you check out some of the garage sales you just might find a used iron MADE IN USA that works fine and cheap!

I don’t claim to know all the answers BUT there is still pleenty of merchandise MADE IN USA and with the search engines it is easier than ever to find it.

And with a HALF BILLION DOLLAR TRADE DEFICIT,
Americans should be buying from people who keep them in business...and how many Chinese were shopping in your town today?
Not many, I trust.
