The New York Post published the op-ed piece that the New York Times rejected from John McCain, as debate continues over the decision to spike it. The piece itself appears to have much the same approach as Barack Obama’s earlier op-ed; in fact, it goes into greater detail than Obama’s while specifically rebutting Obama’s earlier argument.

Obama attacking Bush’s (and McCain’s) position is OK. McCain questioning the logic of Obama’s position is just a hit piece.

That the NYTs would OPENLY announce their BIAS by doing this is......simply.......AMAZING.

They seem to be saying.....we will not entertain printing anything that might make the Messiah look bad.

And that’s the way it is.....

Simply Amazing.

The NYT wishes for free speech about as much any other Marxist entity.

“However, if they offer the lame excuses Shipley does in this case for not publishing McCain’s piece, then their readers can reasonably conclude that they have no objectivity in this election and have decided to become a campaign mouthpiece for Barack Obama.”

...BECOME a campaign mouthpiece for Obama?

When, in the last year, has the NYT NOT been a mouthpiece for B. Hussein and his National Socialist policies?

The Old Grey Whore can publish all the Democrap propaganda they want to and exclude a rebuttal from the Republican presidential candidate - but they cannot pretend that they are honest or objective or balanced in their approach to covering this campaign or anything else.

Shipley’s pitiful rationalizations remind me of so many dishonest sanctimonious leftist twits I used to know - until I got so sick of being around such people I started telling them all they could shove their b.s. back to where the sun won’t shine.

McCain camp targets media “love” for Obama

The McCain campaign is picking up where Saturday Night Live left off: Guilting reporters for purportedly being soft on Barack Obama.

They’ve begun a contest on their website under the headline: “The Media is in LOVE with Barack”

“Pick the best song for their devotion,” they ask readers, offering the same compilation video of TV news clips gushing over the Democratic candidate set to two different love ballads.

Asked why they are engaging in media-bashing, McCain spokesman Brian Rogers replied: “Love for ‘The One’ is in the air.”

McCain aides have begun to poke fun at Obama’s rock-star image by referring to him with the faux lofty phrase.

NBC and MSNBC come in for special criticism in the video, with Chris Matthews taking the brunt of the attack.

“He’s sorta a gift from the world to us in so many ways,” Matthews is shown saying — three times in a row.

While McCain aides have grumbled for months about treatment of Obama, this is the most outward effort to tweak the media and perhaps evoke a little guilt.

NYTs tactic backfired as this op-ed is getting more press than it ever would have had they just published it.

The NY Times is still a driving force behind the news cycle within liberal media circles. Lets not forget that 20 million Americans still watch the nightly news from the Big-3 networks. In fact, the NYT's is still quoted by everyone from Rush Limbaugh and conservative talk radio, to "fair and balanced" Fox News.

Although many on the right are counting the days before the death of the dinosaur media, sadly, it won't come soon enough for Sen McCain.

McCain has an uphill battle. The MSM will continue to promote Obama as the next POTUS. McCain can't count on his old friends in the media to help his campaign effort.

One thing for sure. There is no debate about the total bias in the left wing media. NYSlimes is at the top of the dungheap.

That video is hilarious! I hope they do more.

The networks and mediots need to have this rubbed in their faces.

Even the Slimes knows that “The One” is in trouble.
They are afraid of exposing their mind-numb robot readers to real ideas for fear their heads may explode.

I wonder if McCain is finally realizing the MSM was only using him? The sooner he does, the sooner he can begin embracing a conservative platform....I hope.

"Lets not forget that 20 million Americans still watch the nightly news from the Big-3 networks."

Yeah, but the killer question is how many actually believe those news stories. "I" watch the national news regularly---for laughs.

Hope springs eternal.

I don't think McCain would EVER embrace a conservative platform. He hates us more than Dems and libs....which is the problem in a nutshell.

Seriously doubt McCain will ever embrace the conservative platform. And he's got to realize by now that Obama is the media's chosen one.

If McCain survives the immediate aftermath of Obama’s world trip and pre-election coronation, maybe Americans are finally waking up.
