“Oh look .. another crappy sedan.”

Another auto “expert” adds his worthless 2 cents. My family and friends depend on the fortunes of the big three automakers and any new product that gives hope for future survival is accepted with open arms. Remember, these are among the last of the large American manufacturing corporations and if or when they’re gone, as with almost all other past large American owned companies, we will be owned and receive our economic dictates from Asia. Many posters on this board constantly complain about buying a union made products from Detroit yet they purchase cars from companies whose home country afford their citizens limited civil rights, limited property rights, zero gun rights.. etc. ( and buy electronics made in a Communist country). GM, Ford and Chrysler has done more to add to American prosperity and identity than any Japanese, German or Korean firm ever has or ever will. Ironically, it was the industrial might of the big three that helped bring about the downfall of Germany and Japan and allowed them markets to eventually swallow us whole. And when we become worthless to them, they will move along to other markets because they don’t care about the US (on 9-11, the Big three immediately jumped right in with large contributions and vehicles and it took Toyota days to add any help (probably only not to be shown up by the American companies). So lets keep sending our dollars overseas, our dismal future depends on it. Just my worthless 2 cents.

My Toyota starts everyday and holds its value. More than I can say for any American car I’ve ever owned.

Wagoneer, the head of GM said that GM would meet any Japonese quality standards. Not lead, not beat, not pull ahead, but wait, be passive and then react.]

What a loser. But I remember Smith when asked why GM didn’t build an affordible quality car and he said they did, a three year old Buick.

Nice.

I spotted Bill Ford as a metrosexual loser, ten years ago. He was saying that Ford would plant grass on the roofs of their factories.

What a putz.

Here's two more cents:

I used to buy American, but got sick and tired of cars that could not outlast their financing. In fact, the financing is the hook that American manufacturers use to grab you by the short hairs. As long as the car is worth less than what you owe on it (and that's going to happen all the way until sometime in the last year of payments), you're stuck with the thing, and have no choice other than to have it repaired with expensive parts, often by their dealer network of service centers. They maybe break even on the car at the sale, but will make it up like crazy over the next six years.

I got tired of being treated like a sheep, and went Asian. They still take a bit of pride in what they make. American auto manufacturers stopped doing that a long time ago, if they ever did.
