Despite Saudi Promises, Textbooks Filled With Hate

WASHINGTON — Two years after protracted American-Saudi negotiations persuaded the State Department that the Saudis would remove religious intolerance from their national textbooks, a new study finds the books still portray non-Sunni Muslims as the enemies of true believers.

The report from the Center for Religious Freedom at the Hudson Institute finds that the Saudi textbooks are filled with the austere supremacism of the Wahhabi sect of Islam, despite promises from the Kingdom in 2006 to alter them. For example, a textbook for 10th graders on Islamic jurisprudence not only says it is permissible in Islam to murder a homosexual, but recommends the methods for doing so: burning alive, stoning, or throwing oneoff a high building.

Jews, Christians, and non-Wahhabi Sunni Muslims are described in many of the textbooks as enemies of the true faith and infidels. What's more, examples from Muhammad's teachings that focus on tolerance of other faiths are often ignored.

The report coincides with a conference the Saudi monarch is sponsoring in Madrid, at which he appeared to want reconciliation between the clerics of the Muslim world and their counterparts among Christians and Jews.

“not only says it is permissible in Islam to murder a homosexual, but recommends the methods for doing so: burning alive, stoning, or throwing oneoff a high building.”

These people really are sick freaks. Outlining how to murder people in a school textbook. Islam really is a horrible death cult.

I can't help myself. Each time I read stories like these I think of the Ori from SG-1. They have the same attitude towards all that don't follow their brand of “religion.”

Having studied the Koran and the Hadith, what teachings of tolerance? Examples (taken accurately in context) please.

It’s all in the koran, folks. Read it. It’s just the updated version of false and deadly religions with gods with names like moloch &, baal, etc....the latest one in history just happens to be allah... and all these, inspired and brought to you with a heavy price, by that angel of light, Satan himself. He’s the father of all lies, the deceiver, the bringer of death. They all have the same things in common. They love death more than life. They sacrifice their children to their god. They hate. They love violence and murder, in the name of their god. Most of all they hate the Jews, Israel and anyone that is connected with them. What else would you expect. If you think that they will change their textbooks and delete the vile things that are written in their ‘holy’ books, then their religion is false to them. Isn’t going to happen. And if it isn’t taught in the schools, then it will surely be taught in the local mosque.

WOW! Now there’s a surprise! Why do you suppose the Saudis would figure there’s nothing to fear from TROP Bush Administration for encouraging murder in text books used in American schools? Alternatively, why do you suppose nothing has been done about this?

And people are hysterical over rumors that Obama is a Mohammedan! We should have been concerned years ago about the very real influence that Mohammedanism has in the present Administration!
