How about this for a novel idea? (It is how I think at least..)
THE ECONOMY IS IN TROUBLE
AND
PEOPLE WHINE TOO MUCH.
I think these are not contradictory.
The fact is, the going can get tough in life, but most people waste their energy in complaining about it, and not getting their asses in gear and knocking down the trouble with a positive attitude.

Our economy is in trouble. Face it.Our economy is not in a recession, therefore Phil's comment about it being a mental recession is quite correct for there to be a recession. Last time I checked, we have to have 2 back to back quarters of negative growth. We have yet to have a single quarter of negative growth. To tell the closely held secret, the previous quarter grew more than the 1st.
Could it be better? Yes. But that wasn't the point Phil was making.

The only people who have to worry are the people who want the gov't to do everything for them. Everybody who is willing to work and do something for themselves is going to be OK. It is only the lazy who need to worry.

Proof pleae, how is “our economy” unique?
SE Asia has also experienced a housing bubble with some properties down 50 percent in less than a year.
So it’s a little unclear what you’re saying.
