And your first post on this thread was pure sterling...

Get over yourself. A LOT to late for righteous indignation.

Yes it does. because some of the same people who voted for Thompson and Pres Bush claim that McCain is anti-free speech.

No reason to vote for Bob Barr.

We knew Bush was a RINO back in 1999. We voted for him INSTEAD of McCain because Bush was LESS of a RINO.

Now, we have the same types of cheerleaders trying to get us to vote for Juan McAmnesty again. Saying the EXACT same things.

No more. Never again.

You’re the one getting pissy because the conservatives here aren’t putting up with your crap or your crap candidate...

>> Amnesty? Nice try. You dare compare anyone to McCain on Amnesty. Barr is a loser, I agree, but his record on immigration is a whole bunch better than McCains. <<

REPUBLICAN Barr's record on immigration WAS vastly superior to McCain. That was eight years ago. Too bad Bob Barr no longer has those views since he drank the LP kool-aid. The current, Libertarian Bob Barr running for President shows no improvement over McCain on immigration.

You have a funny way of looking at things. Are you always this fun to be around?

By the way, John McCain is not MY candidate...he wasn't my first, second, third or even fourth choice. But he IS the Republican candidate and he is the only thing standing between us and an Obama Presidency. The adults around here realize that and act accordingly...then there are those who would rather whine and pout and spout off about what pure conservatives they are.

>> A Conservative voting for McCain has much in common with a Jew voting for Hitler in the 30s. <<

Yeah, I'm sure ol' Uncle Adolf agreed with the Jews 80% of the time, since that is McCain's record of voting of with conservatives (whether you like it or not)

Of course, the irony here is that a Social Conservative voting Libertarian is like a vegetarian voting for the Hog Butchers union. I know what conservatives believe in and it certainly isn't gay marriage or legalizing crack. It's cute the way Bob Barr's fan club incessantly whine about McCain "betraying" conservatives while ignoring the fact that Barr did the same thing when he joined the LP and profusely apologized to them for supporting the WOT and traditional marriage.

If Bob Barr wanted the votes of conservatives, he'd be running as one. He wants the losertarian vote, and he can have it. I want no part of the Ron Paul kooks.

Only because "squishy middle" types like you would rather play up Part over Principle.

The "adults" around here are the ones that understand the idiocy of doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Whine and pout all you want about those of us who won't march lock step with your Leftist slide. Just don't expect us to take you seriously.

Paul is a fine Constitutionalist, but horribly naive on the realities of foreign policy. He was on the ballot and didn't attract enough support to beat any RAT candidate. Idaho's primary occurred so late that McCain already had the nomination in hand. I almost checked Paul's name on the ballot just as a vote of principle as it was meaningless in the context of the election.

Not only is this article idiotic, it's patently untrue. McCain would be vastly superior to Obama in terms of judicial appointments and only a complete slack-jawed moron doesn't recognize this.

I'm willing to bet you're on the Obama payroll.

Guys like you who trash the more conservative candidate show up around here like clockwork every time we get close to an election.

I get so sick and tired of people like you. What the hell do you propose as an alternative? What’s your grand idea?

It makes no difference unless the votes were there to block the nominee, whereas obviously they were not. It is also a bit of a stretch to say the opposition party should constantly try to defeat supreme court nominations. Both parties get nominees through unless enough of an issue is raised that the public will block the nominee. As you know, nominees never testify about how they will decide any issue, so there is never a clear basis to stop a nomination based on how the judge will rule. As you know this principle got us Roberts and Alito.

First, your post:

By the way, John McCain is not MY candidate...he wasn't my first, second, third or even fourth choice. But he IS the Republican candidate and he is the only thing standing between us and an Obama Presidency. The adults around here realize that and act accordingly...then there are those who would rather whine and pout and spout off about what pure conservatives they are.

Then your tagline:

Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions - G.K. Chesterton

Irony abounds.

You bet wrong.

Guys like you who trash the more conservative candidate show up around here like clockwork every time we get close to an election.

I don't have to trash McCain. He's more than capable of doing it all by himself.

Considering all of our alternatives? There are none. We are SCREWED.

Call me when it's time to start voting from the rooftops.

Well we finally agree about something. I just think we'll be more screwed if obama wins.
