Somehow, I don’t think the gangsters are going to take on the National Guard. They will just make themselves scarce for a while.
What is really needed here is some skilled detectives, not squads of heavily-armed troops.
They should ask for both Federal (FBI, US Marshals, and DEA) and State help, and help from other jurisdictions/states.
