I predict that they will end up with a commission composed of equal number of members chosen by both the legislature and the Guv. The Chairman will be picked by the Guv but will require approval of a legislative committee.

TXDOT is not one of my faves these days.

I live in the Fort Hood area, and for years we have been trying to get a bypass put in that would streamline traffic from the west into Fort Hood. TXDOT has been stringing us along for more than a decade, despite the fact that Fort Hood is the largest single-site employer in Texas.

Traffic here is awful at rush hour, and TXDOT’s inactivity is appalling. Maybe the legislature should consider actually using gasoline taxes for roads, as they are supposed to.
