NAACP: Obama Win Won't Fix Race Problems CINCINNATI, July 14, 2005(AP) Racial disparity will remain an issue in America, regardless of whether Barack Obama is elected as the nation's first black president, the chairman of the NAACP told the organization's national convention Sunday night.
Julian Bond, a veteran civil rights leader, said Obama's candidacy doesn't "herald a post-civil rights America, any more than his victory in November will mean that race as an issue has been vanquished in America."
But he drew loud applause when he said the country, and "all of us here," are taking pride in the success in this year's campaign by a candidate who couldn't have stayed in some cities' hotels a few decades ago.
"We know that Obama's electoral success - even if he should win the ultimate prize - won't signal an end to racial discrimination, but it does mark the high point of an interracial movement that dates back to the Underground Railroad," Bond said, referring to Cincinnati's historical role in helping fleeing slaves reach freedom.

I think I’m going to puke. The NAACP is in the business of race-baiting. Of course there has to be an unresolveable and eternal racial conflict. If it were to disappear, the exec’s at the NAACP would lose their fat salaries, which are derived from contributions from stupid donors.
“Race Relations” won’t be “fixed” until “African-Americans” can change places with their centuries-long oppressor white folk for a few decades. You know, make white people slaves for a bit.
The Liberals are doing their best to make it happen.

Maybe the NAACP isn’t needed anymore. If you look at their agenda from around 1950 or 1960, you would see that they have achieved all of their goals. From voting rights laws to civil rights laws, fair housing, and affirmative action, they have achieved what they were fighting for. So what’s left for a group when they have achieved what they were set up to do?
as long as the NAACP and parasites like jesse jackson and al sharpton can make big bucks off the ‘civil rights industry’, there will always be racial disparity no matter what the truth of the circumstances is.
They will never be free of slavery.......they won’t let themselves because it keeps them on welfare and dependent on Jackson, Sharpton, the NAACP, The Nation of Islam, etc.
I’m tired of hearing about it and have decided to ingore it from now on. Let them go piss in the wind.
Now that a black man has emerged as the DemocRAT nominee for POTUS, isn’t about time all affirmative action programs be terminated???
Would someone tell me where the race problem is? All I see is blacks who don’t give a damn, won’t work in school, won’t work in the mainstream...and live off MY money.

This is precisely what Booker T. Washington wrote about way back in 1911:

The next four years could be very interesting...how far would Obama go in trying to implement a Code Pink foreign policy? How quickly will the legal code be revised to conform to Sharia? After 4 years of Obama, would race relations be better or worse than they are now?
On my way into work this morning, downtown Cincinnati, I notice a huge Cincinnati Police command center vehicle parked outside the convention center. On it was an enormous banner that said, “The Cincinnati Police would like to welcome the NAACP.” I laughed out loud at the irony.
The pandering that is happening in this town is obscene. From huge billboards to large buttons that even the Chik-Fil-a staff were wearing at lunch all welcoming the NAACP. Obama T-Shirts everywhere on Fountain Square stating, “Now is our time!” I couldn’t think of anything less-inclusive.

If he’s elected, it will be much more than interesting. My guess is that he’ll begin to implement policies and programs that might set-off a race war. He’ll require us to pay reparations, but it will appear under many, many other names.
The NAACP should hold their next convention in Las Vegas, then go out of business.

Well then, what IS the reason to vote for Obama? This was about the only reason some people would vote for him.
Vote McCain.
That organization and other race-hucksters such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will not let it die! Their income depends too much on propagating a lie, and keeping Blacks down and believing they are victims.
I believe that the race-hucksters will lose whatever remaining credibility they have if Obama wins.
I heard something interesting this morning:
“Unless McCain beats Obama by a very strong margin, there will be race riots in several American cities.”
If this is true, this means that any consideration of this being a polite contest, or of Republicans wanting to win by a slim majority are right out the window. That the nation is being held hostage by threat of riot.
Once again, let us pray that the United States Secret Service fend off any threat, or even appearance of threat, to either candidate, in that failure to do so, again for either candidate, could have dire consequences for our nation.
What they gonna do without racism; they’d have to get real jobs?

That’s not exactly an insightful obeservation. The way I’ve seen it there will be race riots 1) if it’s a close popular vote and McCain is “declared” the winner; 2) if it’s decided by the Electoral College with McCain the winner while losing the popular vote a la GW 2000; 3) if it’s close and protracted with Obama winning after losing the popular vote and winning by the Electoral college.
All of this is why I was hoping Hillary would win the nomination. It’s gonna be a bloody mess regardless at this point.
That it would be a truly close race is only a recent assumption, based on the last couple of presidential contests. But how close is close? That is, when does disappointment turn to violence?
Even if McCain “only” defeats Obama by 10% of the popular vote, there is still a good chance for violent recriminations. This brings up the “ever simmering pot” issues.
For example, in parts of California right now, the Mexican Mafia is trying to ethnically cleanse blacks from entire neighborhoods, and with some success. The mostly white government is far too meeching and cowardly to put a stop to it.
During the Rodney King riots in south central, the mostly black rioters attacked the Koreans. They would be terribly foolish to try that again, as the Koreans are more than ready now to defend themselves.
Arabs and Muslims, as well as blacks, may become troublesome in the Detroit area, another “simmering pot”. Atlanta, Boston, parts of New York City, and oddly enough Indianapolis, Little Rock and other cities unaccustomed to riot may be at risk.
Again, the question is how close is close? Even conservative Republican blacks are openly talking about voting for Obama. This defies reason, and plays to deep and ugly emotions.
Yeah, I know.
